Report: Warriors' James Wiseman injures knee, likely out for season

Golden State Warriors rookie center James Wiseman has suffered a torn meniscus in his right knee and is likely to miss the remainder of the season, Stadium reported Sunday. The 7-foot-1 Wiseman suffered the injury Saturday night in the second quarter of his team's 125-109 win over the Houston Rockets when he landed awkwardly after an attempted dunk. His knee hit the court, and he walked off with the trainer and didn't return to the game. He was scheduled to undergo an MRI. This is the second injury on the season for Wiseman, the No. 2 overall pick in the 2020 NBA Draft. He sprained his left wrist on Jan. 30 against the Detroit Pistons and didn't return until Feb. 23. In 39 games this season, he is averaging 11.5 points and 5.8 rebounds over about 21 minutes. The Warriors sit in 10th place in the Western Conference. They are next scheduled to play Monday when they host the Denver Nuggets. --Field Level Media
