La'el Collins Put On Injured Reserve
The Cincinnati Bengals placed right tackle La'el Collins (knee) on Injured Reserve on Friday. Collins will miss the rest of the season after he suffered a torn ACL and MCL in his left knee in the Week 16 win over the New England Patriots. With the injury coming late in the season, the 29-year-old might not be ready to go for the start of the 2023 campaign. Cincinnati's offensive line has been better than they were a year ago, but losing Collins will be an interesting storyline to follow with the playoffs only two weeks away. Hakeem Adeniji is expected to step in as the Bengals' starting right tackle from here on out.

While things have gotten better, the unit still hasn't looked the best at times throughout the season. Nevertheless, Collins is anticipated to need seven months to recover, so he could be ready to go by Week 1 next season. Hakeem Adeniji is expected to replace him for the remainder of the year.

While signing Collins was a priority for the Bengals, a team that struggled to keep Joe Burrow upright last season, he recently returned to practice after sitting out because of a back issue. Nevertheless, Burrow should continue to captain the offense efficiently, no matter who is protecting him this season. However, Collins' play may suffer due to his absences throughout training camp, which isn't ideal.
