  Budda Baker Goes On Injured Reserve

  The Arizona Cardinals placed safety Budda Baker (shoulder) and defensive lineman Trysten Hill (knee) on Injured Reserve on Wednesday. Baker suffered a season-ending fractured shoulder in Sunday night's loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. He'll miss the final two regular season games. In the 26-year-old's absence, Chris Banjo will likely start in Arizona's secondary, leaving them more vulnerable to close out the year. Baker, who was named to the Pro Bowl for the fifth time in his six seasons in 2022, will finish the year with 111 tackles (75 solo), two interceptions, seven passes defensed and a forced fumble in his 15 starts.

  Budda Baker Up In The Air For Week 10

  Arizona Cardinals head coach Kliff Kingsbury said he had been told earlier in the week there was a "zero percent" chance of safety Budda Baker (ankle) playing in Week 10 against the division-rival Los Angeles Rams. Baker was able to practice this week, but the team will be "really smart" before deciding if he'll suit up on Sunday. The 26-year-old is officially listed as questionable. If Baker gets the green light to play, there's a good chance he'll be on a snap count as the Cardinals play it safe with the four-time Pro Bowl safety. Entering Week 10, he ranks as the No. 15 fantasy defensive back in IDP formats. If you've been using Baker as your starting DB in those leagues, you'll want to have another option at the ready.

  Budda Baker Suffers High-Ankle Sprain

  Arizona Cardinals All-Pro safety Budda Baker (ankle) suffered a high-ankle sprain in the Week 9 loss to the Seattle Seahawks, according to sources. The hope is that Baker can return in two or three weeks, based on the severity of his ankle sprain. It's a big blow to the Cardinals defense and for fantasy managers that have been rolling with Baker as their starting defensive back all year. After nine weeks, the 26-year-old ranks 15th in overall fantasy points among defensive backs. He led the team with 11 combined tackles on Sunday and has 71 tackles (46 solo), two QB hits, two passes defensed and a forced fumble in nine games in 2022. The Cardinals could ask linebacker Isaiah Simmons to shift to safety for as long as the four-time Pro Bowler is out of action.
