Carolina Panthers quarterback P.J. Walker (ankle) is inactive for Week 12 against the Denver Broncos. He had been listed as doubtful, so his absence on Sunday comes as no surprise. Sam Darnold recently returned from IR and will start in his place. With a tough matchup against the Denver Broncos, Darnold isn't on the fantasy radar this week.

This was expected with the 27-year-old dealing with a high-ankle sprain. That being said, Baker Mayfield will serve as the signal-caller for this game. Although, the coaching staff says Sam Darnold is looking better, so he could very well get reps in this game as well. Mayfield came in for Walker during their Week 9 loss and looked sharp during that contest. Despite that, Mayfield should still be considered a low-end QB2 for Week 11.

Carolina Panthers quarterback PJ Walker (ankle) has a high-ankle sprain, so Baker Mayfield will get the start in Week 11 against the Baltimore Ravens. Sam Darnold will serve as Mayfield's backup. Walker apparently suffered the ankle sprain in last Thursday's win over the Atlanta Falcons, and he'll miss at least one week and likely more. The Panthers don't have a timetable for his return, but we won't go on Injured Reserve. Mayfield came in to replace an ineffective Walker in Week 9 and went 14-for-20 for 155 yards and two touchdowns in garbage time, but he hasn't started a game since Week 5. The 27-year-old should give the Panthers offense more upside through the air, but he won't be anything more than a low-end QB2 in superflex leagues in Week 11 against an improving Baltimore defense.

After the win on Thursday night against the Atlanta Falcons, Carolina Panthers quarterback PJ Walker will likely remain the starter under center against the Baltimore Ravens in Week 11, according to head coach Steve Wilks. Walker avoided turnovers in the Week 10 win over Atlanta, but that was only because he was fortunate to have the Falcons defense drop a couple of easy interceptions. He finished 10-for-16 for just 108 yards and no touchdowns and ran three times for 14 yards. The ground game, notably running back D'Onta Foreman, carried the offense on Thursday night. Walker didn't really do much to help the team win, and he'll face an improving Ravens defense next week. He'll be a low-end QB2 in superflex leagues as he attempts to hold off Baker Mayfield and Sam Darnold for another week.

Carolina Panthers quarterback PJ Walker will start against the Falcons on Thursday Night Football, despite being benched for Baker Mayfield in Week 9. Walker was benched after throwing two interceptions and just three completions in the blowout loss to the Cincinnati Bengals. In two-QB or superflex leagues, some fantasy managers will be forced to start him, but he's far from the fantasy radar in traditional leagues after posting negative fantasy points in Week 9. He had a nice day against the Falcons in Week 8, but a lot of that production came from a Hail Mary at the end of regulation.

As a result, the 27-year-old may start more games moving ahead, with interim head coach Steve Wilks stating that it's "going to be hard to pull" him after the performance. As a result, Baker Mayfield may be on the bench even when he's healthy. However, Mayfield or Sam Darnold (ankle) could be under center if Walker struggles. With that said, none of them are expected to be consistent fantasy producers.

However, the veteran quarterback suffered a neck injury and left the game early. Thankfully, he didn't suffer a concussion and will be able to play this week. Meanwhile, the Panthers designed Sam Darnold (ankle) to return from injured reserve earlier today and will practice. The fifth-year quarterback hasn't played this season after suffering the injury in the preseason. While Walker will start this week, expect the Panthers to readdress the quarterback situation next week, depending on the health of Mayfield and Darnold.

There should be an update on Walker's condition moving ahead, but there appears to be a chance Eason will be under center for Week 7 against the Buccaneers.
