Pharaoh Brown Questionable To Return Sunday

Cleveland Browns tight end Pharaoh Brown (neck) is questionable to return against the Baltimore Ravens in Week 7. He was not targeted before exiting. With both Brown and David Njoku (ankle) sidelined, Harrison Bryant will serve as Cleveland's lone tight end for the time being.

    Texans Cut Pharaoh Brown

The Houston Texans are cutting tight end Pharaoh Brown on Tuesday, according to sources. Brown didn't play in the Week 4 loss to the Los Angeles Chargers due to hip and shoulder injuries and signed a one-year, $3 million guaranteed contract in the offseason. Through three games played this year, he caught seven of his 10 targets for 72 yards, and he has 46 career catches for 433 yards and two touchdowns in 42 games (31 starts) in five NFL seasons with the Texans, Raiders and Browns. The 28-year-old has mostly been a blocker in his career, so if he resurfaces with another team, he's unlikely to have much, if any, fantasy appeal. Brevin Jordan (ankle) has missed the last two games for Houston, but they also have O.J. Howard and Jordan Akins at the position.

Brevin Jordan, Pharaoh Brown Both Inactive Against Chargers

Houston Texans tight ends Brevin Jordan (ankle) and Pharaoh Brown (shoulder) are both inactive for the Week 4 contest against the Los Angeles Chargers on Sunday. With both Jordan and Brown out for this one, the Texans will roll with a combination of Jordan Akins and O.J. Howard at the position. Howard had two touchdowns in his team debut in the season opener, but he's had just one catch for seven yards on two targets in the two games since. Meanwhile, Akins caught three of his four targets for 31 yards and one touchdown in his season debut in last week's loss to the Chicago Bears. In a weak Texans offense, both Akins and Howard are low-upside, touchdown-dependent TE2 streamers in fantasy.

Pharaoh Brown Questionable For Week 4

Houston Texans tight end Pharaoh Brown (shoulder) is listed as questionable for the Week 4 matchup against the Los Angeles Chargers. The Texans have already ruled out Brevin Jordan (shoulder) for this contest. They've elevated Jordan Atkins and Mason Schreck with the team short on options at tight end. Brown was able to practice in full on Wednesday and Thursday. However, he was limited on Friday, which raises the question on whether or not he'll suit up. Regardless, O.J. Howard is really the only tight end worth looking at in Houston right now. He'll have some TE2 value in deep leagues for this upcoming contest, but could have increased value if Brown is out.

    Pharaoh Brown Active Against Bears

Houston Texans tight end Pharaoh Brown (shoulder), who was listed as questionable, is active in Week 3 against the Chicago Bears. Brevin Jordan (ankle) was already ruled out, so Brown and O.J. Howard should split playing time at the position on Sunday. Brown was more involved in the Week 2 loss to the Denver Broncos, playing 71 percent of the offensive snaps and catching three of five targets for 24 yards. While he should be more involved against Chicago, Howard is still the much better TE2 sleeper play in deeper leagues.

    Pharaoh Brown Listed As Questionable

Houston Texans tight end Pharaoh Brown (shoulder) is listed as questionable to play in Week 3 against the Chicago Bears. Brown appeared on the injury report this week and didn't practice on Thursday before being a full-go in practice on Friday. The Texans already ruled Brevin Jordan (ankle) out for Sunday's contest, so if Brown doesn't play, O.J. Howard could have a much bigger role in the team's passing attack. Jordan Akins would likely be brought up from the practice squad if Brown is inactive against Chicago. Brown, 28, has caught four of his six targets for 41 yards through the team's first two games of the 2022 season. He should remain on waiver wires everywhere.

Pharaoh Brown Uncertain For Week 1

Houston Texans tight end Pharaoh Brown (hamstring) is listed as questionable for Week 1 against the Indianapolis Colts. The 28-year-old is dealing with a hamstring injury, which have a tendency to linger. Luckily, the Texans did add O.J. Howard as insurance at tight end. Also, Brevin Jordan should see a significant snap count this upcoming season. Last year, Brown finished with 23 catches for 171 yards and no touchdowns in 15 games with Houston. It's tough to imagine Brown having fantasy value in Houston right away.
