Austin Ekeler Not On The Final Injury Report

Los Angeles Chargers running back Austin Ekeler (knee) was a full participant in Friday's practice and was removed from the final Week 17 injury report. He has been cleared to play on Sunday against the Los Angeles Rams. There should be no questions about whether to start Ekeler in what is the championship in most fantasy leagues. The 27-year-old has been the No. 1 overall fantasy RB in half-point PPR leagues in 2022 and remains a must-start. He's done it by amassing 759 rushing yards and 11 touchdowns on 183 carries, adding a league-high 99 receptions on 120 targets for an additional 647 yards and five more touchdowns. Ekeler's 99 catches are 23 more than the No. 2 back in catches in Christian McCaffrey.

Austin Ekeler Remains Limited On Thursday

Los Angeles Chargers running back Austin Ekeler (knee) remained limited during Thursday's practice session. The superstar back suffered a minor knee injury during Monday's win over the Indianapolis Colts. That being said, the Chargers have been cautious with Ekeler over the last few days. Fantasy managers shouldn't be concerned about Ekeler missing Week 17. However, fantasy managers should check back on Friday for an update on his status.

Austin Ekeler On The Week 17 Injury Report

Los Angeles Chargers running back Austin Ekeler (knee) is on the team's Week 17 injury report and was listed as limited in Wednesday's practice. Ekeler played 60 percent of the offensive snaps in the Monday night win over the Indianapolis Colts and handled 18 carries for 67 yards and two touchdowns while catching all four of his targets for 12 yards. There's no indication that the 27-year-old's injury is that serious, so as long as he doesn't have any setbacks this week, he should be good to go for Week 17 against the Los Angeles Rams. However, with the Bolts locking up a playoff spot already, there's a chance they could rest Ekeler a bit in the final two regular season game. Still, fantasy managers shouldn't be sitting the No. 1 overall RB in full PPR leagues in 2022.

Tests Come Back Negative On Austin Ekeler

Los Angeles Chargers running back Austin Ekeler (shoulder) had tests done on his shoulder on Monday, according to head coach Brandon Staley, but they came back negative. Ekeler was forced to the blue medical tent on the sidelines early in the Week 15 win over the Tennessee Titans, but he later returned to lead the Bolts' backfield on Sunday. He didn't have a typical monster fantasy performance, but he was still solid for fantasy managers with 12 carries for 58 yards and a touchdown while adding two receptions for 12 yards on 69 percent of the offensive snaps. The 27-year-old could be rested in practice this week, but all signs point to him being active on Monday night against the Indianapolis Colts. The overall RB2 in half-point PPR scoring this year, Ekeler should remain a must-start RB1 the rest of the way.

    Austin Ekeler Returns Versus Titans

Los Angeles Chargers running back Austin Ekeler (arm) returned to the Week 15 meeting against the Titans. The veteran briefly exited this one with an arm injury, allowing Joshua Kelley to enter and find the end zone off a one-yard run in the first quarter. Fortunately, Ekeler doesn't appear to have any residual effects from the ailment, although it's worth monitoring moving ahead.

Austin Ekeler, Joshua Palmer Will Play Against Atlanta

Los Angeles Chargers running back Austin Ekeler (abdomen) and wide receiver Joshua Palmer (concussion) will both play in Week 9 against the Atlanta Falcons. Ekeler popped up on this week's injury report, but the Chargers were just being cautious with him and he shouldn't have any restrictions this weekend. He heads into Week 9 as the overall RB2 in half-point PPR leagues, so Ekeler is an absolute must-start against the Falcons on Sunday. Palmer missed Week 7 due to a concussion but had the bye to recover last week. He has cleared the league's concussion protocol and will serve as the team's No. 1 wideout with Keenan Allen (hamstring) out again and Mike Williams (ankle) on Injured Reserve.

    Austin Ekeler Limited On Thursday

Los Angeles Chargers running back Austin Ekeler (abdominal) was a limited participant during Thursday's practice. It didn't seem like Ekeler was dealing with anything heading into practice. Possibly, it's a minor issue or Ekeler suffered the injury during practice. Regardless, fantasy managers will have to keep an eye on Ekeler heading into Friday's practice. His absence would mean chaos for the Chargers backfield. They'd be forced to use a committee of Sony Michel, Isaiah Spiller and fullback Zander Horvath. For what it's worth, NFL Network's Ian Rapoport later tweeted that it sounds like the Bolts are just being cautious with Ekeler.
