  • Chase McLaughlin Signs With Colts

The Indianapolis Colts signed kicker Chase McLaughlin from the practice squad on Tuesday and released wide receiver Dezmon Patmon in a corresponding move. McLaughlin appeared in 16 games for the Cleveland Browns in 2021 and has already kicked in three games for the Colts in 2022, hitting three of his four field goals. The veteran kicker will stick around as a more permanent member of the team, at least for the time being, as the Colts have called him up from the practice squad the maximum number of times in 2022. McLaughlin showed shaky accuracy with the Browns in 2021 and kicks for a Colts offense that has struggled, making him tough to trust in fantasy.

  • Chase McLaughlin To Start At Kicker For Colts In Week 2

The Indianapolis Colts have elevated kicker Chase McLaughlin to their active roster ahead of a Week 2 contest with the Jacksonville Jaguars. McLaughlin will replace Rodrigo Blankenship, who was released after missing the game-winning field goal in a Week 1 tie with the Houston Texans. Indianapolis held tryouts for the job earlier this week which seemingly turned into a two-man battle between McLaughlin and rookie Lucas Havrisik. Ultimately, the team went with the veteran who previously kicked for the Colts in 2019 and most recently for the Cleveland Browns last season. McLaughlin will not be a recommended option for fantasy this week, especially with the offense missing one of its top weapons in Michael Pittman Jr. (quad).

  • Colts Sign Chase McLaughlin, Lucas Havrisik

The Indianapolis Colts signed free-agent kickers Chase McLaughlin and Lucas Havrisik to their practice squad on Tuesday after waiving Rodrigo Blankenship, according to sources. McLaughlin went 5-for-6 on field goals and 11-for-11 on extra points in four games for the Colts in 2019, while Havrisik spent time with the team in rookie camp. The Colts plan to elevate one to the active roster for Week 2 against the Jacksonville Jaguars on Sunday. McLaughlin probably has the leg up to be the team's kicker this weekend because of his experience, but it's no guarantee. Fantasy managers should be looking to avoid the Colts' kicker in fantasy in Week 2, regardless of who gets the nod on Sunday.
