Sam Ehlinger Won't Suit Up On Sunday Night

Indianapolis Colts quarterback Sam Ehlinger is inactive for Sunday's meeting with the Cowboys. Jeff Saturday had indicated earlier in the week he wanted to make a change to the depth chart. That's exactly what he did, as now Nick Foles will serve as Matt Ryan's backup. Ehlinger has played two games in 2022-23, throwing for 304 yards and an interception while completing just 61.5% of his throws. For those who still have the 24-year-old on their fantasy roster, it doesn't appear he'll be back under center anytime soon, as Foles is likely the next in line if Ryan continues to underperform offensively.

Sam Ehlinger Will Remain The Starter In Indianapolis

Indianapolis Colts quarterback Sam Ehlinger will remain the team's starter, according to interim head coach Jeff Saturday. Saturday took over as head coach for Frank Reich, who was fired on Monday. That being said, the Colts will stick with Ehlinger instead of turning back to veteran signal-caller Matt Ryan, who was benched after Week 7. The benching was apparently the idea of team owner Jim Irsay and Ryan will continue to be sidelined despite the shake-up on the coaching staff. Ehlinger has thrown for 304 yards and one interception in two games. He's still looking for his first career touchdown pass.

Sam Ehlinger Expected To Start For Rest Of Season

Indianapolis Colts quarterback Sam Ehlinger has been promoted to the starting quarterback after veteran quarterback Matt Ryan's sluggish start to the season. Ehlinger was a sixth-round pick in the 2021 NFL Draft and has not thrown a pass in a regular season game. He's worth picking up in deep leagues and superflex/two-QB leagues as there's a chance he can be productive in an offense with solid weapons. That said, he doesn't have much appeal in traditional single-quarterback leagues as his ceiling is likely capped. This could be a sign the Colts are waving the white flag, so buyer beware with Ehlinger.
