  Texans Going Back To Davis Mills At QB

  The Houston Texans are benching quarterback Kyle Allen and will go back to Davis Mills under center for the Week 14 game against the Dallas Cowboys, according to league sources. Mills was the team's original starter this year before he was replaced by Allen in the last two games against the Cleveland Browns and Miami Dolphins, both losses. Allen had five turnovers (four interceptions, one lost fumble) in those two games. Mills has 11 touchdowns and 11 interceptions this year for the 1-10-1 Texans, and they'll be able to further evaluate the former third-rounder before heading into the offseason. In his last start against Washington before being benched, Mills went 19-for-33 for 169 yards, no touchdowns and two picks, also scoring his first career rushing TD. Mills will be a low-end QB2 option in superflex leagues this weekend against Dallas.

  Texans Not Planning To Bench Davis Mills

  Houston Texans head coach Lovie Smith said the team has no plans to replace quarterback Davis Mills as the starter heading into their Week 11 game against the Washington Commanders. The Texans lost their fourth straight game on Sunday to the New York Giants, but Mills went 22-for-37 for a season-high 319 yards, one touchdown and one interception. Despite going over 300 yards, the 24-year-old hasn't looked as good as he did in his rookie year in 2021, and he's completing just 62.3 percent of his passes with a passer rating of 81.7. Mills will have to play better in order to hold off backup Kyle Allen down the stretch, and he'll remain a low-end QB2 with minimal upside in superflex leagues as long as he continues to start in Houston.

  Davis Mills Good To Go For Sunday

  Houston Texans quarterback Davis Mills (thumb) popped up on the injury report following their Week 2 loss to the Broncos. The 23-year-old practiced in full on Wednesday, indicating he will be active for their matchup against the Bears on Sunday. The sophomore has struggled to move the offense over the first two games, generating 20 points in Week 1 and only nine points in Week 2. He's also thrown for 417 yards, two touchdowns, and no interceptions this season. Given his modest production in this low-scoring offense, he remains off-the-radar for fantasy football, even in two-quarterback or superflex leagues.

  Davis Mills Should Be Fine For Week 3

  Houston Texans quarterback Davis Mills (thumb) showed up on the injury report for Week 3. Luckily, the 23-year-old was a full participant during Wednesday's practice. The young quarterback has thrown for over 400 yards with two touchdowns and zero interceptions in two games this season. The Texans aren't exactly competitive, so Mills shouldn't be in any danger of being benched. He does have potential, but it's unlikely he'll become a reliable fantasy option at any point this season.
