  Caleb Farley Will Miss Rest Of The Season

  Tennessee Titans 2021 first-round cornerback Caleb Farley (back) underwent a microdisectomy on his back on Thursday and will miss the rest of the season, according to a source. He was dealing with a herniated disc in his back, but he's expected to be ready for the start of the offseason program next spring. The absence of the 24-year-old will be a blow to Tennessee's defense the rest of the way. Farley has been injury-prone early on in his career, playing in just 12 games (two starts) for the Titans in his first two years in the league. Before getting injured in Week 10 against the Denver Broncos, Farley had 10 tackles (nine solo) in his nine games. The Titans are extremely beat up and vulnerable in their secondary right now.

  Caleb Farley Placed On Injured Reserve

  The Tennessee Titans placed cornerback Caley Farley (back) on Injured Reserve on Tuesday and promoted linebacker Joe Schobert and defensive lineman Larrell Murchison from the practice squad to the active 53-man roster in corresponding moves. Farley is expected to have season-ending surgery to fix a herniated disc. The 24-year-old former first-rounder was dealing with a back injury heading into the 2021 draft and fell to Tennessee late in the first round as a result, but he played in just three games in his rookie season before tearing his ACL. Farley made it nine games in 2022, but injuries early in his career have made him a first-round bust so far. The Titans secondary has been vulnerable all year long and are extremely banged up heading into Thursday's game against the Green Bay Packers.

His injury will likely require season-ending surgery. Farley suffered the injury in the third quarter during a punt return and was later ruled out with a back injury. It's the 24-year-old's second serious back injury in the last three years. He also injured his L5 disc and suffered a bulged SI disc that needed microdiscectomy before the 2021 draft. Farley played in just three games in 2021 before suffering a torn ACL in Week 6, so his career has been marred by injuries so far in the NFL. Before his injury Sunday, Farley played 16.8 percent of the defensive snaps for the Titans, mostly working on special teams in nine games.
