  • Pierre Strong Jr. Making His NFL Debut

New England Patriots rookie running back Pierre Strong Jr. (shoulder) is active and will make his NFL debut in Week 2 against the Pittsburgh Steelers. Strong was listed as questionable for this contest, but he will suit up after being a healthy scratch in the season opener. Strong is active with Ty Montgomery (knee) now on Injured Reserve, but fantasy managers in dynasty/keeper leagues shouldn't expect Strong to touch the ball much, if at all, in his debut against Pittsburgh behind Damien Harris and Rhamondre Stevenson. In single-year leagues, Strong shouldn't be anywhere near your starting lineup in Week 2.

  • Pierre Strong Jr. Questionable Week 2 Against Pittsburgh

New England Patriots running back Pierre Strong Jr. (shoulder) is listed as questionable for Sunday's game against the Pittsburgh Steelers after practicing in a limited fashion this week. The Patriots placed running back Ty Montgomery (knee) on the injured reserve Wednesday, sidelining him for at least three games. The 23-year-old could see an uptick in usage but remains behind top options, Damien Harris and Rhamondre Stevenson. New England did elevate J.J. Taylor from the practice squad; there's a chance Strong could miss Week 2. Strong is not a strong fantasy option despite seeing an uptick in usage in New England's ground game and can be left on the bench in most formats.

  • Pierre Strong Jr. Limited Wednesday

New England Patriots running back Pierre Strong Jr. (shoulder) was limited in Wednesday's practice. The Patriots placed running back Ty Montgomery (knee) on the injured reserve Wednesday, sidelining him for at least three games. The 23-year-old could see an uptick in usage but remains behind top options, Damien Harris and Rhamondre Stevenson. According to Mike Reiss of ESPN, Strong is a candidate to contribute as a pass-catcher out of the Patriots' backfield in the coming weeks. He was inactive in Week 1 but is on track to suit up in Week 2 against the Pittsburgh Steelers. Strong can be stashed in deep-league formats while Montgomery is sidelined.
