Velus Jones Jr. Active For NFL Debut

Chicago Bears rookie wide receiver Velus Jones Jr. (hamstring) is officially active for Week 4 against the New York Giants. He will make his NFL debut after missing the first three games of the season. While the Bears are thin at the wide receiver position, they don't throw the football much. As a result, Jones should be left on waivers in redraft leagues.

Velus Jones Jr. Expected To Debut In Week 4

Chicago Bears wide receiver Velus Jones Jr. (hamstring) is expected to make his NFL debut against the New York Giants in Week 4. The third-round rookie has missed the first three weeks due to a lingering hamstring issue. Luckily, it sounds like he's ready to go here, which is a boost for the Bears offense. Although, the Bears have thrown the ball only 45 times through the first three games. Jones appears to be more of a deep league stash or dynasty hold right now. It's unlikely he has much fantasy value right out of the gate.

Velus Jones Jr. Will Miss Another Game

Chicago Bears wide receiver Velus Jones Jr. (hamstring) won't play during the Sunday night divisional meeting with the Packers. The rookie is nursing a hamstring injury that also caused him to miss the season-opener against the San Francisco 49ers. His next chance to suit up will be in Week 3 versus the Houston Texans. However, if Jones is available for that one, he may be limited, although the wideout likely isn't on many fantasy rosters at the moment. Nevertheless, it should be business as usual in Week 2, with Darnell Mooney, Cole Kmet, David Montgomery, and Equanimeous St. Brown expected to get plenty of attention from Justin Fields.

Velus Jones Jr. Doubtful For Week 2

Chicago Bears rookie wide receiver Velus Jones Jr. (hamstring) is listed as doubtful for Week 2. He did not practice for the second consecutive week. With Jones sidelined, look for Equanimeous St. Brown and Dante Pettis to fill depth roles behind Darnell Mooney. St. Brown and Pettis combined for two catches, 69 yards, and two touchdowns in Week 1, leaving their respective outlooks fairly unpredictable heading into Sunday's clash with the Packers.

Velus Jones Jr. Officially Inactive For Week 1

Chicago Bears wide receiver Velus Jones Jr. (hamstring) is officially inactive for Week 1 versus the San Francisco 49ers. The rookie did not practice at all this week and, as a result, was listed as doubtful heading into the weekend. His absence should lead to a bump in target for Equanimeous St. Brown and Byron Pringle, but it's worth noting that heavy rain and wet field conditions in Chicago could prompt the Bears to focus on a more run-heavy approach.

Velus Jones Jr. Doubtful For Week 1

Chicago Bears wide receiver Velus Jones Jr. (hamstring) isn't expected to play on Sunday during the season opener against the visiting 49ers. The rookie hasn't practiced all week because of a hamstring issue, so his official debut may not happen until Week 2, although that's up in the air as well. Nevertheless, with the team also without N'Keal Harry (ankle), Byron Pringle and Equanimeous St. Brown could see a few additional looks from Justin Fields. However, Darnell Mooney and Cole Kmet remain the favorites to lead the way by a wide margin on the receiving end.

Velus Jones Jr. Does Not Practice Wednesday

Chicago Bears rookie wide receiver Velus Jones Jr. (hamstring) did not take part in practice on Wednesday. Jones didn't play much in the preseason and most likely went undrafted in standard 12-team leagues this summer. The third-rounder's status for the Week 1 regular season opener on Sunday against the San Francisco 49ers is now up in the air, but he won't be a recommended starter for fantasy managers, even if he does end up playing. The 25-year-old should only be stashed this year in dynasty/keeper and much deeper single-year leagues for the time being. Darnell Mooney, Equanimeous St. Brown and Bryon Pringle figure to be Chicago's starting wideouts in three-wide sets to begin the year.
