Indianapolis Colts Transactions

TEAMPLAYERTRANSACTION
Indianapolis Colts cornerback Stephon Gilmore (wrist) is officially inactive for the Week 18 regular season finale on Sunday against the Houston Texans. Gilmore came into this one with a questionable tag after not practicing all week, and the Colts will keep him out in a meaningless game to end the year. The 32-year-old five-time Pro Bowler will end his first year with the Colts with a career-high 66 tackles (53 solo), two interceptions and 11 passes defensed in 16 starts. Despite the fact that Gilmore won't suit up on Sunday, Indy's defense/special teams unit could be worth a look as a streamer in deeper leagues while going up against one of the worst offenses in football.

TEAMPLAYERTRANSACTION
Indianapolis Colts quarterback Nick Foles (ribs) will not play against the Houston Texans in Week 18. Interim head coach Jeff Saturday said Foles is still sore after taking a brutal hit against the New York Giants in the Week 17 loss. Sam Ehlinger will make his third start of the season, with Matt Ryan serving as his backup. Ehlinger has completed 41 of his 66 passing attempts for 364 yards, one touchdown, and one interception. He remains off the fantasy radar in single-QB leagues in Week 18.

TEAMPLAYERTRANSACTION
Indianapolis Colts head coach Jeff Saturday served as a consultant to the organization and an analyst for ESPN before taking over as interim coach. He started off with a bang when he beat the Las Vegas Raiders in his coaching debut. Since then, the Colts have fallen to 1-5 under Saturday. Also, they've given up the largest comeback in NFL history. Honestly, it's a bit surprising that the Colts want to bring back Saturday for the 2023 season. Possibly, a full offseason of preparation would help Saturday, but he should be considered a long-shot for the full-time gig.
Indianapolis Colts quarterback Nick Foles (rib) is questionable to return against the New York Giants in Week 17. He exited in the second quarter after a big hit that left him on the ground in agony. The veteran had gone 8-for-13 with 81 yards, zero touchdowns, and one interception before departing. Sam Ehlinger will take over at quarterback until Foles can return.
Indianapolis Colts quarterback Nick Foles (rib) has been ruled out for the remainder of Week 17 against the New York Giants. He exited in the second quarter after a big hit that left him on the ground in agony. The veteran had gone 8-for-13 with 81 yards, zero touchdowns, and one interception before departing. Sam Ehlinger will take over at quarterback for the remainder of Sunday's contest.

TEAMPLAYERTRANSACTION
The Indianapolis Colts placed defensive end Yannick Ngakoue (throat) on Injured Reserve on Saturday, ending his 2022 season with just two games to go. Ngakoue suffered a throat injury in Week 16 and will require surgery. The 27-year-old has been Indy's best pass-rusher this year, so it will be a big loss for their final two games, starting this weekend against the New York Giants. Ngakoue will finish his first year with the Colts with 29 tackles (18 solo), eight tackles for loss, 16 QB hits, a team-high 9.5 sacks and a forced fumble in his 15 starts. The Colts will hope Kwity Paye and Dayo Odenyingbo can step up without Ngakoue in these final two games. Indy's defense/special teams should be ignored by fantasy managers in Week 17.

TEAMPLAYERTRANSACTION
Indianapolis Colts wide receiver Ashton Dulin (concussion) and tight end Kylen Granson (ankle) have been ruled out for Week 17 against the New York Giants. Dulin suffered a head injury on Monday night on the same play that got Los Angeles Chargers safety Derwin James ejected from the contest. The 25-year-old has been well off the fantasy radar in 2022 in Indy's anemic offense, recording 15 catches for 207 yards and a touchdown on 22 targets over 11 games. Granson is missing his second straight game. As such, Jelani Woods has a prime opportunity to make some noise after leading the team with 43 receiving yards on three catches in his first start of the year in Week 16. Still, with quarterback Nick Foles running the show, fantasy managers can find better streaming options at TE.

TEAMPLAYERTRANSACTION
Indianapolis Colts wide receiver Ashton Dulin went back to the locker room to be evaluated for a concussion following an illegal hit by Derwin James in his team's Monday Night Football game in Week 16. A defenseless Dulin took a huge hit from James, who led with the crown of his helmet, following an incompletion in the second quarter. He was slow to get up before eventually heading back into the locker room to be checked for a head injury. James was ejected for the hit and Dulin's night could also be over, although the Colts haven't ruled him out officially.

TEAMPLAYERTRANSACTION
The Indianapolis Colts are placing running back Jonathan Taylor (ankle) on Injured Reserve on Tuesday with a high-ankle sprain, according to a league source. He'll miss the final three games of the regular season. In a corresponding move, the Colts promoted running back Jordan Wilkins from the practice squad to the active roster. As the No. 1 overall pick in most fantasy drafts in 2022, Taylor was a bust this year, finishing with 861 rushing yards and four touchdowns on 192 carries while also catching 28 passes for an additional 143 yards in just 11 games. The 23-year-old's fantasy stock will take a hit going into 2023, but he could easily bounce back if the Colts fix their QB situation and offensive-line issues. In the final three games, Zack Moss and Deon Jackson should form a timeshare in Indy's backfield.
Monday, December 19
TEAMPLAYERTRANSACTION
Indianapolis Colts running back Jonathan Taylor (ankle) was forced to exit early during Saturday's game against the Minnesota Vikings. The organization did further testing and determined that Taylor has suffered a high-ankle sprain. That being said, the organization appears comfortable with shutting down Taylor for the rest of the season. It's a lost season for the Colts, so there is no reason for the team to rush back their franchise running back. He'll finish the season with 861 yards and four touchdowns, adding 28 receptions for 143 yards. It was a disappointing year for Taylor, but hopefully he can bounce back at full health next season. In the meantime, Deon Jackson and Zack Moss should split up the carries in the backfield for the last few games.
Saturday, December 17
TEAMPLAYERTRANSACTION
Indianapolis Colts running back Jonathan Taylor (ankle) is questionable to return to the team's Week 15 matchup with the Minnesota Vikings. Taylor sustained an ankle injury on his first touch of the game, a reception for 13 yards. He briefly went to the medical tent before walking to the locker room for further evaluation. While it's possible he returns, this has the potential to be a brutal loss for many fantasy managers in the first round of the playoffs. Deon Jackson and Zack Moss figure to split carries for as long as Taylor is out.
Indianapolis Colts running back Jonathan Taylor (ankle) has officially been ruled out for the remainder of a Week 15 matchup with the Minnesota Vikings. Taylor injured his ankle early in the first quarter on a 13-yard reception, his first and only touch of the game. It was initially reported that he was questionable to return after heading to the locker room, but he was declared out soon after. This is devastating news for many fantasy managers in the first round of the playoffs. Deon Jackson and Zack Moss will likely split the work out of the Colts' backfield in Taylor's absence.
Indianapolis Colts running back Jonathan Taylor (ankle) was forced to exit early during the Week 15 matchup against the Minnesota Vikings. The 23-year-old injured his ankle on a 13-yard reception early in the first quarter. That ended up being his first and only touch of the entire contest. The Colts have done additional testing and determined that Taylor suffered a sprained ankle. There's a good chance that the four-win Colts decide to hold out Taylor for the rest of the regular season. Deon Jackson and Zack Moss will be asked to split up the backfield duties if Taylor does miss time.
Monday, December 05
TEAMPLAYERTRANSACTION
Indianapolis Colts quarterback Nick Foles is active for the Sunday Night Football matchup against the Cowboys. Sam Ehlinger won't be in uniform, so Foles will serve as Matt Ryan's backup in Week 13. The veteran has appeared in one game in 2022-23. While Foles isn't a fantasy option at the moment, managers should monitor this situation, especially if Ryan continues to underwhelm offensively moving ahead.
Indianapolis Colts quarterback Sam Ehlinger is inactive for Sunday's meeting with the Cowboys. Jeff Saturday had indicated earlier in the week he wanted to make a change to the depth chart. That's exactly what he did, as now Nick Foles will serve as Matt Ryan's backup. Ehlinger has played two games in 2022-23, throwing for 304 yards and an interception while completing just 61.5% of his throws. For those who still have the 24-year-old on their fantasy roster, it doesn't appear he'll be back under center anytime soon, as Foles is likely the next in line if Ryan continues to underperform offensively.
Friday, December 02
TEAMPLAYERTRANSACTION
Indianapolis Colts rookie tight end Jelani Woods (quadriceps, shoulder) is officially questionable for the team's Week 13 game against the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday night. He has just 15 receptions for 117 yards and three touchdowns on the year, but there are surely fantasy managers in deep tight-end premium leagues who will be affected. If he's out, Mo Alie-Cox and Kylen Granson should see more snaps at tight end. That said, this Colts offense will likely be shut down by one of the premier defenses in the NFL on Sunday Night Football.
The Indianapolis Colts ruled out cornerback Kenny Moore (shin) and offensive tackle Braden Smith (illness) for the Sunday night game against the Dallas Cowboys in Week 13. Moore was injured in the Monday night loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers and will miss at least one game. It's a big loss for a strong Colts defense against a potent Cowboys offensive attack. The 27-year-old was seen with a cast on his right leg on Thursday, so there's a chance he'll miss multiple games with his injury. With Moore out this weekend, look for Brandon Facyson and Isaiah Rodgers to see more playing time in the Colts secondary against Dallas.
Thursday, December 01
TEAMPLAYERTRANSACTION
Indianapolis Colts rookie tight end Jelani Woods (quadriceps, shoulder) was listed as a DNP on Wednesday's estimated practice report. Meanwhile fellow tight end Kylen Granson (illness) returned to a full practice. Woods came out of nowhere to catch eight of nine targets for 98 yards in Monday night's loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers, but now he could be in danger of missing Week 13 against the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday night. Woods' performance in Week 12 came with Granson inactive, and he had just seven catches for 79 yards and three touchdowns in nine previous games. If Woods returns to practice this week and plays on Sunday night, he's likely to see his role shrink again if Granson returns alongside Mo Alie-Cox. Monday's performance is likely to be more of an outlier in his rookie campaign.
Indianapolis Colts tight end Jelani Woods (quad, shoulder) was forced to sit out of Thursday's practice. This marks back-to-back days that Woods has been forced to miss practice. Last week, Woods finished with eight receptions for 98 yards, but has been barely involved prior to that game. It sounds like both Kylen Granson and Mo Alie-Cox will be healthy for Week 13. They'd likely see an uptick in value if Woods is unable to play. Fantasy managers shouldn't be counting on a repeat performance from Woods even if he does play.
Tuesday, November 29
TEAMPLAYERTRANSACTION
Indianapolis Colts tight end Kylen Granson (illness) is officially inactive for Monday night against the Pittsburgh Steelers. Granson was unable to practice all of last week and was listed as doubtful for Week 12. Defensive end Kwity Paye (ankle) also missed practice last week and has been ruled out. With Granson sidelined for this contest, Mo Alie-Cox and Jelani Woods should split most of the tight end snaps for the Colts against Pittsburgh. The 24-year-old Granson will hope to make his return in Week 13 against the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday Night Football. None of Indy's tight ends are particularly attractive in fantasy as anything more as a touchdown-dependent TE2 in deeper leagues. Granson has 25 catches on 32 targets for 249 yards and no touchdowns in 11 games this year.
Indianapolis Colts cornerback Kenny Moore (shin) was injured in the Monday night game against the Pittsburgh Steelers late in the second half and is questionable to return. It's unlikely that Moore will return after he was seen limping to the locker room. He collided with teammate Zaire Franklin on a goal-line play in the fourth quarter and was removed from the game. Before leaving, Moore was leading the team with 10 tackles (seven solo) for the Colts defense. Losing Moore for an extended period of time would be a big blow to the Colts defense to close out the season, but we'll have a better idea of the severity of his injury in the coming days.
Sunday, November 27
TEAMPLAYERTRANSACTION
Indianapolis Colts tight end Kylen Granson (illness) has been downgraded to doubtful ahead of Monday Night Football versus the Pittsburgh Steelers. He did not practice this past week, so it's no surprise that he's expected to sit out the primetime clash. The 24-year-old has 25 catches for 249 yards this season and will likely be replaced by a combination of Mo Alie-Cox and Jelani Woods. The Colts also announced that pass rusher Kwity Paye (ankle) has been downgraded to out. He has racked up 24 tackles and four sack through parts of seven games this season. Dayo Odeyingbo will likely see more snaps in his absence.
Friday, November 18
TEAMPLAYERTRANSACTION
Indianapolis Colts running back Deon Jackson (knee) was a limited participant in Thursday's practice. He did not play against the Las Vegas Raiders in Week 10 due to a knee injury. The 23-year-old will have one more chance to log a full practice ahead of Sunday's game against the Philadelphia Eagles. Jackson will have a complimentary role behind star running back Jonathan Taylor if active. Fantasy managers can avoid using Jackson in a tough matchup against the Eagles, as he will have a minimal role at best if he does suit up in Week 11.
Tuesday, November 15
TEAMPLAYERTRANSACTION
Indianapolis Colts All-Pro linebacker Shaquille Leonard (back) underwent successful season-ending back surgery on Tuesday morning after several evaluations, according to a source. Leonard is on Injured Reserve and will miss the rest of the year, but the hope is this surgery will fix his back issue for good. Leonard had back surgery in June to fix two discs, but hopefully this second surgery will keep him healthy for all of 2023. The 27-year-old only managed to play in three games this year while recording 11 tackles (eight solo) and an interception while also dealing with a concussion and a broken nose that he suffered in Week 4. If Leonard's back injuries are a thing of the past next year, he could once again become an every-week starter at linebacker in IDP leagues.
Sunday, November 13
TEAMPLAYERTRANSACTION
Indianapolis Colts linebacker Shaquille Leonard (ankle, back) will meet with renowned surgeon Dr. Robert Watkins on Monday in Los Angeles to determine if he can play again this season, according to ESPN senior writer Adam Schefter. The veteran recently landed on injured reserve after playing only three games in 2022-23, where he totaled 11 tackles and one interception. While there's a chance Leonard could be back this season, IDP managers should brace themselves for the alternative.
Indianapolis Colts tight end Mo Alie-Cox (ankle) and pass rusher Kwity Paye (ankle) are active for Week 10 against the Las Vegas Raiders. They had both been listed as questionable. Alie-Cox could see an increase in volume with Jelani Woods (shoulder) ruled out, but the subpar state of the Colts' offense strips him of any fantasy relevance. Meanwhile, Paye has looked solid this season, racking up 24 tackles and four sacks through six games. He should play a key role in slowing down the Vegas offense on Sunday.
Indianapolis Colts defensive end Kwity Paye (ankle) won't return against the Las Vegas Raiders. The 23-year-old, who was questionable heading into this one, suffered another ankle injury. Paye entered Week 10 fresh off an eight-tackle, one-sack performance against the Patriots. However, he was quiet on Sunday. Nonetheless, there's a chance he won't play in Week 11 against Philadelphia, so fantasy managers should plan accordingly.
Saturday, November 12
TEAMPLAYERTRANSACTION
Indianapolis Colts tight end Mo Alie-Cox (ankle) is listed as questionable for the Week 10 game against the Las Vegas Raiders. Alie-Cox missed practice on Wednesday and Thursday but returned to the practice field on Friday on a limited basis, giving him a chance to play on Sunday. Other than a six-catch, 85-yard, two-touchdown explosion in Week 4, Alie-Cox doesn't have more than two receptions or 26 yards in a game this year in Indy's poor offense. He caught both of his targets for 13 yards in the Week 9 loss to the New England Patriots. The 29-year-old isn't worth streaming as a TE2, even if he plays. If he's inactive on Sunday, Kylen Granson should have a sizeable role with Jelani Woods (shoulder) already ruled out.
The Indianapolis Colts officially activated wide receiver Ashton Dulin (foot) from Injured Reserve on Saturday and placed linebacker Shaquille Leonard (back) on Injured Reserve in a corresponding move. Dulin doesn't move the fantasy needle at all, especially in this weak Colts offense currently led by inexperienced quarterback Sam Ehlinger. The 25-year-old pass-catcher had 12 catches on 18 targets for 168 yards and no touchdowns in five games before landing on IR with his foot injury. He'll return to provide depth at the position behind Michael Pittman Jr., rookie Alec Pierce and Parris Campbell. In this disjointed Colts offense with a declining offensive line, no receiver other than Pittman should be trusted in starting fantasy lineups right now.
Friday, November 11
TEAMPLAYERTRANSACTION
Indianapolis Colts running back Deon Jackson (knee) will not play against the Las Vegas Raiders in Week 10. Jackson suffered the injury in the Week 9 loss to the New England Patriots. Jonathan Taylor is expected to play after putting in a full practice this week, so he should get a workhorse role against the Raiders, who have given up the third-most fantasy points to running backs through nine weeks. Zack Moss might get some work too, but it's tough to project him as even a deep-league desperation play until further notice.
Indianapolis Colts linebacker Shaquille Leonard (ankle, back) will miss his seventh game of the season after suffering a setback in practice this week and is headed to injured reserve. The Colts face the Las Vegas Raiders on Sunday, who has been effective running the ball with Josh Jacobs at times this season. Leonard's absence boosts Jacobs' outlook and hurts the Colts' fantasy defense/special unit at least a bit. It's been a frustrating season for Leonard, but the team won't rush him back as they are far from a playoff contender at this point in the season.
Indianapolis Colts quarterback Matt Ryan (shoulder) is set to be active against the Las Vegas Raiders in Week 10, but he'll serve as Sam Ehlinger's backup in Jeff Saturday's first game as the head coach. Those in deep two-QB or superflex leagues might want to consider picking up Ryan as a bench stash. Ehlinger's leash probably won't be long, and with a new coach leading the team, Ryan could find his way back on the field at some point this year. Under Ehlinger, the offense has been even worse, and the Colts' receivers have fallen off the fantasy radar.
Thursday, November 10
TEAMPLAYERTRANSACTION
Indianapolis Colts running back Deon Jackson (knee) was absent from Wednesday's practice. The 23-year-old had high expectations heading into Week 9 with a workhorse role available while lead back Jonathan Taylor (ankle) was nursing an injury. Unfortunately, those expectations fell short as the second-year back disappointed with just 36 yards from scrimmage on 13 total touches. Taylor was available for practice on Wednesday, albeit in a limited fashion. So, even if Jackson manages to suit up for Week 10, he might just fall back into his role as a handcuff for fantasy managers.
The Indianapolis Colts signed running back Jake Funk to their practice squad on Thursday and released running back Phillip Lindsay from the practice squad in a corresponding move. In five games for the Los Angeles Rams this year, Funk saw one snap on offense. The former seventh-round pick in 2021 played in 10 games in LA in his rookie season and returned four kicks on special teams. The 24-year-old from Maryland will strictly serve as emergency RB depth for the Colts now. Lindsay saw action in three games for the Colts this year when Jonathan Taylor (ankle) was sidelined, carrying the ball 15 times for 49 yards while catching six of his eight targets for 19 additional yards. He'll look to latch on with a new team to provide RB depth.
Indianapolis Colts running back Jonathan Taylor (ankle) is practicing for the second straight day this week on Thursday. Taylor was held out for the third time this year due to his ankle injury in Week 9 but appears to be on track to return for the Week 10 tilt against the Las Vegas Raiders this Sunday. The 23-year-old second year back took the league by storm in his sophomore season, leading the NFL in yards (1,811), rushing touchdowns (18) and rushing yards per game (106.5), but he's been a bust as the first overall pick in most fantasy drafts in 2022. Taylor has 462 rushing yards and one TD on 107 carries in six games and is averaging 4.3 yards per carry. He's a must-start when active, but he's become more of a low-upside RB2 in a Colts offense that has been one of the worst in the league this year.
Indianapolis Colts quarterback Matt Ryan (shoulder) is back at practice on Thursday. Ryan is dealing with a Grade 2 right shoulder sprain and was demoted from the starting role in favor of Sam Ehlinger a few weeks back. The Colts continue to say that Ehlinger will be their starter going forward, even in the wake of the firing of head coach Frank Reich this week. But if things continue to go poorly for Ehlinger and the Colts offense, the team may have no choice but to go back to the veteran Ryan. For now, the 37-year-old remains well off the fantasy radar, but it's a good sign that he's improving from his right shoulder injury.
Indianapolis Colts running back Jonathan Taylor (ankle) was a full participant in practice on Thursday, which is good news for his availability in Week 10 against the Las Vegas Raiders. Taylor missed the Week 9 loss to the New England Patriots and has now missed three total games due to the injury. It looks like he's trending towards playing this weekend, but Taylor's fantasy value has fallen in a Colts offense now led by quarterback Sam Ehlinger. Deon Jackson (knee) served as the team's lead back in Week 9 with Taylor out, but he hasn't practice yet this week and is in danger of being inactive on Sunday. If Jackson cannot play, newly acquired Zack Moss could have a significant role as Taylor's backup.
Indianapolis Colts running back Deon Jackson (knee) missed his second straight day of practice this week on Thursday. Jackson is trending towards missing the Week 10 contest against the Las Vegas Raiders. With Jonathan Taylor (ankle) on track to return this Sunday, Jackson won't have any relevance for fantasy lineups, even if he's active. If Jackson cannot play, newly acquired running back Zack Moss could have a substantial role as the backup to Taylor, but not enough of one to be considered a viable fantasy starter. The Colts will also likely elevate Jordan Wilkins from the practice squad if Jackson cannot play. Jackson is only interesting as an RB3/flex play if Taylor misses any more time due to injury.
Updating a previous report, Indianapolis Colts quarterback Matt Ryan (shoulder) was a full participant in practice on Thursday and will be available to interim head coach Jeff Saturday on Sunday against the Las Vegas Raiders, if so desired. Ryan is recovering from a Grade 2 right shoulder sprain, but the Colts still plan on using Sam Ehlinger as the starter under center for the rest of the season. The 37-year-old had 10 turnovers to open the season, but it remains to be seen if Saturday would consider going back to him if Ehlinger continues to play poorly. There's a chance that Ryan will be the backup to Ehlinger over Nick Foles in Week 10. For now, Ryan needs to remain on the waiver wire in all single-QB leagues.
Wednesday, November 09
TEAMPLAYERTRANSACTION
The Indianapolis Colts designated wide receiver Ashton Dulin (foot) to return from Injured Reserve on Wednesday, opening the 21-day window for the team to officially activate him from IR. Dulin is now available to practice with the team again. He hasn't played since Week 5, but he could technically return this weekend against the Las Vegas Raiders if the Colts activate him by Saturday. The 25-year-old had just 12 receptions on 18 targets for 168 yards and no touchdowns in five games before his injury, and he'll return as receiver depth when the Colts feel he's ready. Dulin belongs on the waiver wire behind Michael Pittman Jr., Parris Campbell and rookie Alec Pierce in the Colts' low-volume passing attack.
Indianapolis Colts running back Jonathan Taylor (ankle), who missed last week's game with an ankle injury, was spotted practicing on Wednesday. Taylor was officially listed as limited, but it's a great sign that he might be able to return in Week 10 to face the Las Vegas Raiders. We'll continue to keep a close eye on Taylor's practice status the rest of the week, but as long as he doesn't suffer a setback, he should at least be questionable for Sunday's tilt. Deon Jackson (knee), who served as Indy's lead back without Taylor in Week 9, missed practice on Wednesday. If Taylor and Jackson cannot play, Zack Moss could see significant work in his debut with the team, while Phillip Lindsay and Jordan Wilkins would also likely be involved. Taylor, the first overall pick in most fantasy drafts, has been a huge bust so far in 2022.
Tuesday, November 08
TEAMPLAYERTRANSACTION
Indianapolis Colts interim head coach Jeff Saturday is expected to have 30-year-old pass-game specialist/assistant quarterbacks coach Parks Frazier serve as the offensive play-caller, starting in Week 10 against the Las Vegas Raiders, according to sources. Frazier has the most experience of any offensive coach left on the staff after the team fired head coach Frank Reich on Monday and offensive coordinator Marcus Brady last week. However, Frazier has never called plays in the NFL or been in a role higher than an assistant, so there will surely be growing pains. He was hired in 2018 as the assistant to the head coach, a position he held for two seasons. Frazier was elevated to offensive quality control coach in 2020. If the Colts can't get their offensive-line issues sorted out, Frazier and the rest of the offense will continue to be bad.
Monday, November 07
TEAMPLAYERTRANSACTION
The Indianapolis Colts fired head coach Frank Reich on Monday, according to sources. The move comes after the team's 26-3 loss to the New England Patriots in Week 9, the Colts' third straight loss. Indianapolis recently made the switch from veteran quarterback Matt Ryan to Sam Ehlinger and also fired offensive coordinator Marcus Brady last week, but it couldn't save Reich his job. The 60-year-old went 40-33-1 in the regular season and 1-2 in two playoff appearances with the Colts. The team had different opening-day starters at QB in each of Reich's five seasons as the franchise struggled to replace Andrew Luck after his sudden retirement before the 2019 season. The Colts didn't convert any of their 14 third-down attempts, which tied the worst single-game mark in the NFL in the last 30 years.
The Indianapolis Colts are naming former six-time Pro Bowl center and ESPN analyst Jeff Saturday as their interim head coach on Monday after firing Frank Reich. Saturday has been a consultant for the team and is in its Ring of Honor. He was also the head coach for the Hebron Christian Academy football team in Georgia. The Colts have been reeling as an organization ever since losing to the Jacksonville Jaguars in the regular season finale last year to miss the playoffs. They dumped Carson Wentz and traded for Matt Ryan, but Ryan was benched last week in favor of Sam Ehlinger, and the team also fired offensive coordinator Marcus Brady. Indy's offense has become one of the worst in football, and they've scored just 19 points in their last two games.
Saturday, November 05
TEAMPLAYERTRANSACTION
With Indianapolis Colts running back Jonathan Taylor (ankle) out for Week 9 against the New England Patriots on Sunday, the team elevated running backs Phillip Lindsay and Jordan Wilkins from the practice squad to the active roster on Saturday. The Colts traded Nyheim Hines to the Bills on Tuesday, so they'll need additional depth with Taylor injured. Indy landed Zack Moss from Buffalo as well, but he's unlikely to be up to speed in his debut with the team after just being acquired on Tuesday. Deon Jackson should operate as the lead back against the Pats with Taylor out, but Lindsay did have 14 carries and caught six passes earlier this year in the two games that Taylor missed due to injury.
Indianapolis Colts head coach Frank Reich said that defensive end Kwity Paye (ankle) will return in Week 9 against the New England Patriots from a high-ankle sprain that he suffered in Week 5. Star linebacker Shaquille Leonard (back) will also remain on a pitch count on Sunday as he continues to work his way back from offseason back surgery. The three-time first-team All-Pro played just 24 defensive snaps last week. Starting left tackle Dennis Kelly (ankle, calf) will be a game-time decision on Sunday. Getting Paye back from a three-game absence will be huge for a Colts defensive unit that is an attractive streaming option against New England this weekend, but it will be hard to trust both Paye and Leonard in IDP fantasy formats.
Friday, November 04
TEAMPLAYERTRANSACTION
Indianapolis Colts running back Jonathan Taylor (ankle) wasn't seen at the team's final practice on Friday, and The Athletic's Zak Keefer believes that it's doubtful Taylor will play in Week 9 against the New England Patriots. Taylor hasn't practiced all week after aggravating an ankle sprain in Week 8 that has already cost him two games this year. The disappointing season for the first overall fantasy pick in most leagues will continue if he's unable to play this Sunday. Check back shortly for the 23-year-old's official injury designation. If he's doubtful or ruled out, Deon Jackson should see the majority of Indy's backfield work after the team just traded away Nyheim Hines. Zack Moss could also be involved, but he was just acquired in the Hines trade and may need to be eased in as he learns the offense.
Indianapolis Colts running back Jonathan Taylor (ankle) has officially been ruled out for the Week 9 game against the New England Patriots. He's being called week-to-week and since the Colts look to be building for the future and perhaps boosting its draft position, they likely won't play Taylor unless he's close to 100-percent moving forward. That said, Deon Jackson is the primary back while Taylor is out, especially since Nyheim Hines has been traded to the Buffalo Bills. Zack Moss came to the Colts in the deal, but he likely won't see a significant workload in his first game with the team. Jackson will face a tough matchup with the New England defense that has allowed the third-fewest fantasy points to running backs thus far.
Thursday, November 03
TEAMPLAYERTRANSACTION
Indianapolis Colts running back Jonathan Taylor (ankle) wasn't seen at the portion of practice open to the media on Thursday and also didn't practice on Wednesday. After tweaking his sprained ankle in the Week 8 loss to the Washington Commanders, Taylor is now in danger of missing his third game this year in Week 9 against the New England Patriots. The Colts traded away pass-catching back Nyheim Hines for power back Zack Moss this week, but if Taylor is out or limited this Sunday, it will likely be Deon Jackson seeing most of the backfield work for the Colts. Phillip Lindsay could be called up from the practice squad as well. Taylor is looking highly questionable for this week, and Jackson would be a plug-and-play flex option if Taylor is inactive.
Wednesday, November 02
TEAMPLAYERTRANSACTION
Indianapolis Colts running back Jonathan Taylor (ankle) will not practice on Wednesday due to an ankle injury that caused him to miss two games already this year. Taylor briefly left the game last Sunday but eventually returned to finish with 16 carries for a very pedestrian 76 yards. The 23-year-old has been a massive disappointment as the first overall pick in most fantasy drafts, and he enters Week 9 as the RB33 in half-point PPR leagues. The fact that he was able to return to the game against Washington is a good sign, but Taylor clearly isn't 100 percent and fantasy managers need to keep an eye on his status heading into the weekend against the New England Patriots. With Nyheim Hines now in Buffalo, newly acquired Zack Moss and Deon Jackson would take over backfield duties if Taylor is limited or out.
Indianapolis Colts quarterback Matt Ryan (shoulder) won't practice again this week due to his right shoulder injury. Injury issues aside, the Colts said last week that they have benched Ryan for the rest of the year in favor of Sam Ehlinger. It's highly likely that Ryan will be inactive for the Week 9 contest against the New England Patriots, and he's not expected to start again in 2022 unless something happens to Ehlinger. If Ryan is inactive again this weekend, veteran Nick Foles would again serve as Ehlinger's backup. The 37-year-old Ryan had nine touchdowns and a league-high nine interceptions in seven games played before being benched in what has become a mess of a Colts offense. Indy also fired offensive coordinator Marcus Brady this week.

Indianapolis Colts running back Nyheim Hines is reportedly receiving trade calls, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter. It is unclear whether the Colts are willing to entertain offers for the talented pass-catching running back, although at 3-4-1, Indianapolis is likely to be sellers at Tuesday's trade deadline. A Hines trade would likely open up extra work for Week 6 star Deon Jackson, who has been operating as the team's No. 3 running back in 2022.
The Indianapolis Colts relieved offensive coordinator Marcus Brady of his duties on Tuesday. The move comes a week after the team benched veteran quarterback Matt Ryan as the starter in his first year with the organization. Head coach Frank Reich has been calling the offensive plays in 2022, with Brady working on game-planning and play design. Brady became the team's offensive coordinator in 2021 after Nick Sirianni left to become the head coach of the Philadelphia Eagles. The Colts offense currently ranks 30th in points per game (16.1), is tied for the most turnovers in the league (16) and is 31st in offensive EPA (minus-36.54). Ryan was sacked 24 times in seven games as the starter. It remains to be seen who will take over the offensive coordinator role in Indy the rest of the season.
The Indianapolis Colts acquired running back Zack Moss and a sixth-round pick that can go to a fifth-rounder in 2023 from the Buffalo Bills on Tuesday in exchange for running back Nyheim Hines, according to sources. In just five games with the Bills this year, Moss was third on the RB depth chart behind Devin Singletary and rookie James Cook, which led to just 17 carries for 91 yards and seven receptions for 27 yards. He won't have an immediate path to more playing time in his new digs behind top back Jonathan Taylor, but Taylor hasn't been as effective this year and has dealt with injuries as well. The Colts also still have Deon Jackson on the RB depth chart. Hines' departure will free up a considerable amount of RB receptions, which should benefit Taylor the most.

Indianapolis Colts running back Jonathan Taylor suffered a twisted ankle in the narrow loss to the Washington Commanders in Week 8. Taylor briefly exited the game before returning but turned in just 76 rushing yards on 16 carries and zero receptions on one target. The Colts are going to see how his ankle responds to practice this week, but either way, his fantasy outlook is looking darker by the week now that Sam Ehlinger has taken over as the Colts' starter. Taylor will likely play in one of the worst offenses in the league, so his touchdown upside is limited. He's still a must-start, but his floor is as low as it's ever been.
Indianapolis Colts defensive end Tyquan Lewis (knee) suffered a season-ending knee injury, a torn patellar tendon, in the Week 8 loss to the Washington Commanders. The Colts quickly placed Lewis on season-ending Injured Reserve on Monday. It's a blow to the Colts defense, as the 27-year-old pass-rusher had been a regular on the team's defensive line in 2022. The Colts have also been without second-year pass-rusher Kwity Paye (ankle) of late, so they'll be hoping that Ifeadi Odenigbo can step up the rest of the way. Lewis will finish his fifth NFL season with 14 tackles (eight solo), one sack, four QB hits and a forced fumble in seven games in 2022.

TEAMPLAYERTRANSACTION
Indianapolis Colts defensive back Kenny Moore (finger) is currently considered questionable for the Week 8 matchup against the Washington Commanders. The 27-year-old reportedly suffered a scary finger injury during practice this week. The team expects Moore to play, but they will likely wait until closer to game time before making a final decision. Through seven games, Moore has 31 tackles, one sack, and two passes defended for this Colts defense. Obviously, having Moore on the field would be an upgrade for the Indy defensive unit.
Indianapolis Colts running back Jonathan Taylor (ankle) is questionable to return to Sunday's meeting against the Commanders. Taylor missed time already this season with the ankle injury, so there's a chance he won't be back for the rest of Week 8. He was having an efficient day before going down, amassing 38 yards off five touches for just over seven yards per carry. If he is ruled out, Nyheim Hines and Deon Jackson will likely split time out of the backfield.
Indianapolis Colts running back Jonathan Taylor (ankle) returned to Sunday's meeting against the Commanders. He briefly exited with an ankle injury and was considered questionable to return. However, Taylor had his ankle re-taped and seems to have avoided anything serious, much to the delight of fantasy managers. Still, managers should monitor the injury heading into Week 9 versus the Patriots.

Indianapolis Colts defensive end Kwity Paye (ankle) has been ruled out for the game against the Washington Commanders in Week 8. Paye has missed the last few weeks while dealing with an ankle injury, and the Colts' struggling defense will miss him once again. View the Colts fantasy defense/special teams unit as a boom-or-bust option against streaky quarterback Taylor Heinicke on Sunday.

TEAMPLAYERTRANSACTION
Indianapolis Colts quarterback Matt Ryan (shoulder) will not play next week against the Washington Commanders, and Frank Reich said Sam Ehlinger would have started this week regardless of the injury. Ehlinger is expected to be the Colts' starter for the rest of the 2022 season after a disappointing start to the season by Matt Ryan. Ryan has thrown nine interceptions through seven weeks and has fumbled three times. The Colts sit at 3-3-1 and have already lost two games to the Tennessee Titans. We may have seen the last of Ryan in his NFL playing career.

TEAMPLAYERTRANSACTION
Indianapolis Colts running back Jonathan Taylor (ankle) is back in action for the Week 7 matchup against the Tennessee Titans. Head coach Frank Reich mentioned that Taylor is full-go and won't be limited at all in this contest. The 23-year-old should get a bulk of the carries with Nyheim Hines and Deon Jackson rotated in as well. Taylor was taken as the No. 1 overall pick in many fantasy drafts this season. He has not lived up to those expectations through the first four games that he's played in. Regardless, fantasy managers need to make sure he's in their lineups for Sunday. He'll continue to have elite RB1 upside despite the recent struggles.

TEAMPLAYERTRANSACTION
Indianapolis Colts defensive end Kwity Paye (ankle) won't play in Sunday's meeting with the Tennessee Titans. The 23-year-old will now miss his second straight contest after suffering an ankle injury during the Week 5 outing versus the Denver Broncos. Paye has 16 total tackles and three sacks this season, so there are likely several disappointed IDP managers heading into Week 7. The Colts' defense will also be without linebacker Shaquille Leonard (concussion, nose, back), which isn't ideal against a fresh Derrick Henry.

TEAMPLAYERTRANSACTION
Indianapolis Colts linebacker Shaquille Leonard (back, concussion, nose) returned to a full practice on Thursday after being limited on Wednesday. Leonard made his season debut in Week 4 after offseason back surgery and suffered a broken nose and a concussion and has missed the last two games. His recovery from a broken nose is his biggest obstacle towards returning in Week 7 against the Tennessee Titans, but a full practice on Thursday is a good sign. The 27-year-old All-Pro has been a must-start linebacker in IDP fantasy leagues in recent seasons, but it's probably best to hold him out at least for another week in those formats if he's able to return in Week 7.
Indianapolis Colts running back Jonathan Taylor (ankle) is expected to play against the Tennessee Titans in Week 7. In the matchup against the Titans in Week 4, Taylor was held to just 42 rushing yards and zero touchdowns on 20 attempts. However, he should be fresh after two weeks off, so he's a must-start once again if he plays. Tennessee is one of the toughest matchups for running backs, but again, he's a must-start in any matchup thanks to his workload and big-play ability. If Nyheim Hines (head) plays, he will likely take some of the passing-down work.
Indianapolis Colts running back Nyheim Hines (concussion) is expected to be ready to go for the Week 7 matchup with the Tennessee Titans. Hines can be played as a deep-league PPR flex option or a desperation RB slot play. With Jonathan Taylor returning from an ankle injury, Hines could see extra touches and be heavily involved in the passing game. However, the Titans are a tough matchup for running backs, so Hines is a mere dart throw for fantasy managers in a tough spot.
Indianapolis Colts linebacker Shaquille Leonard (back, concussion, nose) has been ruled out for the Week 7 matchup against the Tennessee Titans. Leonard cleared the concussion protocol, but head coach Frank Reich is holding him out to make sure he gets back to full health. Without Leonard, the Colts defense isn't as strong, but in a matchup with a bottom-tier offense in the Tennessee Titans, their fantasy defense/special teams unit is a decent streamer as a boom-or-bust option.
Indianapolis Colts running backs Jonathan Taylor (ankle) and Nyheim Hines (concussion) do not have injury designations on Friday and will play in Week 7 against the Tennessee Titans. Meanwhile, Deon Jackson (quadriceps) has also been taken off the injury report, so he'll provide depth behind Taylor and Hines on Sunday. Taylor will return after missing the last two games with an ankle sprain. He's been somewhat of a disappointment in fantasy through four games after being taken as the No. 1 overall pick in most fantasy leagues, but he should be returned to all starting lineups this weekend. While he could be limited, Taylor should still lead this backfield. He had 20 carries for 42 yards (2.10 yards per carry) in Week 4. Hines will have some RB3/flex appeal in deeper PPR setups.

TEAMPLAYERTRANSACTION
Indianapolis Colts linebacker Shaquille Leonard (back, concussion, nose) returned to practice on Wednesday and was a limited participant. Leonard suffered a broken nose in Week 4 in his season debut and needed surgery, which required him to miss the team's last two games. The fact that he was limited early in the week is a good sign that he has a shot to return in Week 7 against the Tennessee Titans. If he's forced to miss his third straight game, the Colts will continue to ask Bobby Okereke and E.J. Speed to step up in his absence. The 27-year-old All-Pro also had offseason back surgery, which is why he had a late start to the 2022 season. Even if Leonard returns this Sunday, he'll be a shaky starter in IDP formats with the risk of playing limited snaps.
Washington Commanders defensive lineman Chase Young (knee) will see Dr. Andrews on Sunday, and if all goes well, he'll practice next week. The Commanders will evaluate Young before determining if the 23-year-old will return against the Indianapolis Colts in Week 8. Washington will see how Young's surgically repaired knee responds through practice before activating him off the PUP list. The former No.2 overall pick recorded 70 tackles and nine sacks in 24 career games through his first two NFL seasons. Young will boost Washington's defense and remain a roster stash in IDP league formats.
Indianapolis Colts running back Jonathan Taylor (ankle) said he's feeling pretty good ahead of a Week 7 matchup against the Tennessee Titans. As for Week 6 when he missed his second straight game due to a sprained ankle, Taylor said it was his decision to sit out. "You just know your body," Taylor said. The 23-year-old was limited in practice on Wednesday, so barring a setback to close out the week, he has a pretty good chance to return to action this weekend. Taylor, who was the first overall pick in most fantasy leagues this year, has disappointed to this point with 81 carries for 328 yards and one touchdown, adding nine catches for 44 yards. But if he's active against the Titans on Sunday, he's a must-start for fantasy lineups.
Indianapolis Colts running backs Jonathan Taylor (ankle), Nyheim Hines (concussion) and Deon Jackson (quadriceps) all practiced in full on Thursday after being limited on Wednesday. Taylor and Hines both missed the Week 6 win over the Jacksonville Jaguars, while Jackson was injured on Sunday after a big performance as the lead back. All three look to be ready to play this weekend against the Tennessee Titans. Taylor has missed the last two games due to an ankle sprain that he suffered in Week 4. He hasn't really lived up to the No. 1 overall pick in most fantasy leagues so far in 2022, but he's trending towards returning to action this Sunday and will need to be returned to all starting fantasy lineups if that's the case.

Indianapolis Colts running backs Jonathan Taylor (ankle), Nyheim Hines (concussion), and Deon Jackson (quad) all practiced on Wednesday. More importantly, all three were in their normal practice gear, suggesting they should be ready to play in Week 7 against the Tennessee Titans. Taylor has missed the past two weeks after suffering an ankle injury in Week 4 against the Titans. Meanwhile, Hines suffered a concussion early in Week 5, and Jackson left last week's game early with a quad injury. Assuming all three are ready to go on Sunday, Taylor and Hines should return to their normal roles, while Jackson likely is limited to special teams snaps. However, Taylor was on track to play last week before the Colts ruled him out on Saturday. Fantasy players should hold onto Jackson until Taylor is either off the injury report or officially active on gameday.

TEAMPLAYERTRANSACTION
Indianapolis Colts running back Deon Jackson (quad) has been ruled out for the remainder of Week 6 versus the Jacksonville Jaguars. For the time being, the Colts' backfield will be led by fourth-string back Phillip Lindsay. He finishes the day with 42 rushing yards and one rushing touchdown, but more notably, he racked up a whopping 10 receptions and 79 receiving yards.
Saturday, October 15
TEAMPLAYERTRANSACTION
Indianapolis Colts running backs Jonathan Taylor (ankle) and Nyheim Hines (concussion) have both been downgraded to out for Week 6 against the Jacksonville Jaguars. It was looking like Taylor would return after missing last Thursday's win over the Denver Broncos after putting in two limited practices on Thursday and Friday, but the Colts will take the cautious approach and hold him out for another week. With both Taylor and Hines out on Sunday, expect the Colts to use some combination of Deon Jackson and Phillip Lindsay against the Jags. Jackson played 58 percent of the snaps last week and had 13 carries for 62 yards while catching all four targets for 29 yards. Lindsay had 11 carries for 40 yards and caught three of four targets for 14 yards.
The Indianapolis Colts elevated running backs Phillip Lindsay and D'Vonte Price to the active roster from the practice squad on Saturday and also signed wide receiver Keke Coutee to the active roster and waived offensive tackle Luke Tenuta. Running backs Jonathan Taylor (ankle) and Nyheim Hines (concussion) have been ruled out for Week 6 against the Jacksonville Jaguars, so the Colts will roll with Deon Jackson, Lindsay and Price in their backfield this Sunday. Jackson will be the preferred flex option in deeper leagues after he saw a team-high 13 carries for 62 yards and caught all four of his targets for 29 yards on 58 percent of the offensive snaps in the Week 5 overtime win over the Denver Broncos.

TEAMPLAYERTRANSACTION
Indianapolis Colts linebacker Shaquille Leonard (back, concussion, nose) and defensive end Kwity Paye (ankel) have both been ruled out of the Week 6 game against the Jacksonville Jaguars. The Colts defense was outmatched in the first meeting with Jacksonville, so this could be significant for fantasy football. The outlooks of the Jaguars' offensive players aren't changed too much, but the Colts fantasy defense/special teams unit's outlook takes at least a little bit of a hit without two of their best playmakers.
Indianapolis Colts running backs Jonathan Taylor (ankle) and Nyheim Hines (concussion) are both officially listed as questionable to play in Week 6 against the Jacksonville Jaguars. The good news for Taylor is that he was able to put in limited practices on Thursday and Friday, giving him a chance to return after sitting out last Thursday's overtime win over the Denver Broncos with a sprained right ankle. Hines got in a full practice on Friday and is close to passing through the league's concussion protocol. Fantasy managers will know early on Sunday whether Taylor and Hines are active. If Taylor is active, he's a must-start RB1 for fantasy managers, but if he misses another contest, the Colts could roll with a committee approach with Deon Jackson, Phillip Lindsay and Hines if he's active.

Indianapolis Colts wide receiver Ashton Dulin (foot), who was placed on Injured Reserve on Tuesday, is expected to miss the rest of the season. Dulin suffered his foot injury in the Week 5 overtime win over the Denver Broncos last Thursday. The 25-year-old played in five games this year and had only 12 catches on 18 targets for 168 scoreless yards before his season came to an end. With Dulin expected to be out the rest of the way, the Colts will need Mike Strachan and Parris Campbell to step up behind Michael Pittman Jr. and rookie Alec Pierce in the passing game in Indy.
Indianapolis Colts running back Jonathan Taylor (ankle) will return to practice on Thursday, according to a source. The All-Pro running back was held out of practice on Wednesday and didn't play in last Thursday's overtime win over the Denver Broncos, but he has a chance to return this Sunday against the Jacksonville Jaguars. Nyheim Hines (concussion) is also questionable to play this weekend after leaving the Week 5 game early with a concussion, so Indy's backfield is in flux right now. With Taylor out and Hines injured last Thursday, Phillip Lindsay and Deon Jackson split the backfield duties. We'll have a better idea about Taylor's status for Week 6 on Friday, but fantasy managers should consider him questionable right now.
Wednesday, October 12
TEAMPLAYERTRANSACTION
Indianapolis Colts running back Jonathan Taylor (ankle) is rehabbing off to the side during Wednesday's practice, while Nyheim Hines (concussion) is in a red non-contact jersey. Taylor initially wasn't spotted at practice, but he ended up doing some light jogging off to the side. There's a good chance the 23-year-old will be listed as a DNP on the official practice report, so he remains very questionable to play in Week 6 against the Jacksonville Jaguars after missing last Thursday's overtime win over the Denver Broncos. With Hines in the league's concussion protocol, it would be Phillip Lindsay and Deon Jackson splitting Indy's backfield this Sunday against the Jaguars if Taylor is unable to play. Continue to monitor his status to close out the week.
Indianapolis Colts running back Jonathan Taylor (ankle) did not practice with the team on Wednesday and was seen doing rehab work off to the side. Taylor was sidelined last week due to an ankle injury that he sustained in Week 4. Fantasy managers will need to monitor practice reports throughout the week to see if Taylor has a chance to suit up on Sunday against the Jacksonville Jaguars. With Nyheim Hines (concussion) listed as a limited practice participant and Phillip Lindsay (undisclosed) not present, Deon Jackson could be a worthwhile stash as the next man up.
Indianapolis Colts running back Nyheim Hines (concussion) was a limited participant in the team's practice on Wednesday after suffering a concussion early in Week 5. He was spotted in a non-contact jersey and will hope to clear the NFL's concussion protocol over the course of the week. Hines started last week in place of injured All-Pro Jonathan Taylor (ankle) and appeared to be primed for a heavy workload as he saw an opportunity in each of his three snaps. In Hines' absence, Deon Jackson and Phillip Lindsay (undisclosed) split reps in the Colts' backfield. Both Taylor and Lindsay missed practice on Wednesday, so Hines could be in line for a plethora of touches if cleared. If all three are ruled out, Jackson would be an intriguing flex play against the Jacksonville Jaguars.

The Indianapolis Colts placed wide receiver Ashton Dulin (foot) on Injured Reserve on Tuesday and signed defensive tackle Chris Williams to the active roster from the practice squad in a corresponding move. The Colts also signed offensive tackle Ty Nsekhe to the practice squad. Dulin was removed from last Thursday's win over the Denver Broncos early, and he'll now miss at least the next four games. The 25-year-old had 12 catches on 18 targets for 168 yards and no touchdowns in the first five games of the season, but he wasn't on the fantasy radar at all. Michael Pittman Jr. and rookie Alec Pierce have been the Colts' top two receivers, with Parris Campbell and Mike Strachan serving as depth.

TEAMPLAYERTRANSACTION
Indianapolis Colts running back Nyheim Hines (concussion) has been ruled out for the rest of Thursday's game against the Broncos due to a concussion. He initially got hurt during the team's opening drive. The 25-year-old was slow getting up and then checked out by the trainers. Hines was taken to the locker room to be evaluated for a concussion and ruled out for the rest of Thursday's game. Hines will need to clear league protocols to be cleared for Week 6 against the Jacksonville Jaguars. Deon Jackson and Phillip Lindsay will lead the Colts' backfield while Hines is out.
Indianapolis Colts wide receiver Ashton Dulin (foot) suffered a foot injury in Thursday's 12-9 win over the Denver Broncos. He caught one pass for 18 yards before exiting. The 25-year-old is considered day-to-day and will undergo further evaluation of his injured foot. Dulin is the team's WR4 on the depth chart behind Michael Pittman, Alec Pierce, and Parris Campbell but has been productive with limited snaps. Dulin has caught 12 passes for 168 yards over five games in 2022. Fantasy managers should continue to monitor Dulin's status for now, as the severity of his foot injury is unknown. Stay tuned.
Indianapolis Colts defensive end Kwity Paye (ankle), who was carted off the field during Thursday night's overtime win over the Denver Broncos, is believed to have suffered a high-ankle sprain based on his initial evaluation, according to a source. He'll have an MRI exam on Friday to confirm the initial diagnosis. Paye could be out for four to six weeks as a result of the injury, so it's a blow for the Colts defense moving forward after a very strong performance in Week 5 to limit the Broncos to just nine points and no offensive touchdowns. The 23-year-old pass-rusher has three sacks, 16 tackles (12 solo), five tackles for loss and five QB hits so far in his five games for Indy in his second NFL season.
Indianapolis Colts running back Jonathan Taylor (ankle) doesn't seem to be dealing with a major injury, as head coach Frank Reich said the team is optimistic about his chances to play in Week 6 against the Jacksonville Jaguars. Taylor has struggled mightily in his last two games, but even in what is one of the worst offenses in the league, he's a must-start as soon as he returns to the lineup. With Nyheim Hines (concussion) banged up, Taylor could even see more passing work if Hines has to miss any action moving forward. If the Colts' offense can get on track at any point this season, his ceiling will be back to the overall RB1 each week.

The Indianapolis Colts elevated running back Phillip Lindsay from their practice squad to the active roster for Thursday night's game against his former team, the Denver Broncos, according to a source. With Jonathan Taylor (ankle) ruled out for Week 5, Lindsay will make his Colts debut and could have a role alongside pass-catching back Nyheim Hines and Deon Jackson. The former undrafted running back had 1,000 yards in each of his first two seasons with Denver but then quickly fell out of favor and was released. He had 88 carries for 249 yards and a touchdown in 14 games with the Texans and Dolphins in 2021. Lindsay could factor in on early downs against Denver on Thursday, but he's not a recommended option in starting fantasy lineups in his first game with Indy.

TEAMPLAYERTRANSACTION
Indianapolis Colts running back Jonathan Taylor (ankle) told reporters that he is hoping to play through a sprained right ankle in Thursday night's game against the Denver Broncos. Taylor twisted his ankle in a Week 4 loss to the Tennessee Titans and has been "rehabbing furiously" since the injury in attempts to get on the field for Thursday. "I definitely do plan to play, but if you can't go, you can't go," he told reporters on Tuesday. Taylor has not participated in either of his team's two practices this week. If Taylor does ultimately suit up, then he should be in fantasy lineups. If he sits, look for a combination of Nyheim Hines, Deon Jackson, and Phillip Lindsay to split the backfield.
The Indianapolis Colts signed kicker Chase McLaughlin from the practice squad on Tuesday and released wide receiver Dezmon Patmon in a corresponding move. McLaughlin appeared in 16 games for the Cleveland Browns in 2021 and has already kicked in three games for the Colts in 2022, hitting three of his four field goals. The veteran kicker will stick around as a more permanent member of the team, at least for the time being, as the Colts have called him up from the practice squad the maximum number of times in 2022. McLaughlin showed shaky accuracy with the Browns in 2021 and kicks for a Colts offense that has struggled, making him tough to trust in fantasy.
Indianapolis Colts All-Pro linebacker Shaquille Leonard (concussion, nose), who has already been ruled out for Thursday night's game against the Denver Broncos after suffering a concussion in the Week 4 loss to the Tennessee Titans, is also dealing with a broken nose. Head coach Frank Reich said the broken nose could impact his return to the lineup separately from the concussion, but the team can't determine that until the significant swelling subsides and doctors can see the extent of the damage. Leonard was making his season debut last Sunday after having offseason back surgery, and now he'll miss another game in Week 5 due to his concussion and broken nose. The 27-year-old won't be a lock to return in Week 6 against the Jacksonville Jaguars.
Indianapolis Colts running back Jonathan Taylor (ankle) will not play in Thursday night's matchup against the Denver Broncos. The star running back suffered an ankle injury late in the Colts' 24-17 Week 4 loss to the Tennessee Titans. While the third-year back hoped to play this week, the quick turnaround proved to be a problem. Without Taylor, the Colts will rely on a combination of Nyheim Hines, Deon Jackson and Phillip Lindsay. Of the three, Hines has the most fantasy appeal, especially in PPR leagues. However, the matchup against Denver makes all three risky options, at best. Fantasy managers should instead look for another alternative to replace Taylor this week.

Indianapolis Colts head coach Frank Reich said that the team hopes running back Jonathan Taylor (ankle) can play in Week 5 against the Denver Broncos on Thursday Night Football after he suffered a sprained right ankle in the Week 4 loss to the Tennessee Titans. The Colts initially feared that Taylor suffered a high-ankle sprain, which almost certainly would have sidelined him this week and beyond, but his injury isn't as serious as initially believed and there's still a chance he could play on Thursday despite being listed as a DNP on Monday's estimated practice report. Taylor had over 100 yards rushing and a TD in Week 1, but he's been a disappointment since. He could be in danger of seeing limited snaps if he's active on Thursday against Denver. If he's out or limited, Nyheim Hines, Deon Jackson and Phillip Lindsay could form a committee backfield.
Indianapolis Colts running back Jonathan Taylor (ankle) was spotted watching Tuesday's walkthrough with a boot on his right foot as he continues to deal with an ankle sprain he suffered in Week 4. The Colts take on the Broncos on Thursday night, so Taylor's chances of playing on a short week seem to be less likely, but the Colts' coaching staff remains hopeful their stud running back can suit up. If he is to be held out of action, Nyheim Hines would be the most appealing option in the Colts' backfield, but we would likely be seeing a three-man committee that includes Deon Jackson and Phillip Lindsay.

Indianapolis Colts running back Jonathan Taylor (ankle) was believed to have possibly suffered a high-ankle sprain during Sunday's contest. Luckily, the tests are coming back and the organization doesn't believe this is a long term issue. He could still miss time, but hopefully it won't be anything significant. He rushed 20 times for 42 yards during the Week 4 loss to the Tennessee Titans. It remains to be seen if he'll be healthy enough to suit up for Thursday Night Football against the Denver Broncos. Otherwise, Nyheim Hines could be seeing an increased workload.
Indianapolis Colts head coach Frank Reich told reporters that linebacker Shaquille Leonard (concussion) is out for Thursday night against the Denver Broncos in Week 5. Leonard made his season debut in the Week 4 loss to the Tennessee Titans, but he played only 16 defensive snaps before suffering a concussion and never returning to the contest. The 27-year-old All-Pro got a late start in 2022 due to a back injury, and now he'll miss his fourth game of the year this Thursday. Leonard has been a must-start IDP linebacker in recent seasons, but he's been struggling to stay on the field this year. He's still worth stashing in IDP leagues, though, and hopefully he'll be able to return in Week 6.
Tests on Indianapolis Colts running back Jonathan Taylor (ankle) came back negative on Monday and he has a chance to play on Thursday night in Week 5 against the Denver Broncos, according to a source. The team initially feared that Taylor had suffered a high-ankle sprain in the Week 4 loss to the Tennessee Titans, but it's now looking like he may have avoided a long-term injury. He was listed as DNP on the team's estimated practice report on Monday, and fantasy managers will have to keep a close eye on his status over the next couple of days. Even if Taylor is active, he could see fewer snaps, which would make him an extremely risky RB1. If Taylor is inactive this week, Nyheim Hines and Deon Jackson would share backfield duties, with Phillip Lindsay likely being added to the active roster as additional depth.

Indianapolis Colts linebacker Shaquille Leonard (back) "is the most hopeful he's been about playing" ahead of Week 4, according to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network. Leonard hasn't played in 2022 yet, but the defensive star believes his season debut will come against the Tennessee Titans on Sunday. He was listed as questionable for this week despite being a full participant in practice. Through 16 games last season, Leonard registered 122 tackles, eight forced fumbles, two fumble recoveries, and four interceptions.
Indianapolis Colts outside linebacker Shaquille Leonard (back) is officially active for the Week 4 game against the Tennessee Titans and will make his season debut. Defensive tackle DeForest Buckner (elbow), who was also listed as questionable, is active. Leonard has been an All-Pro in three of his four NFL seasons, but he's dealt with injuries recently and could have his playing time limited in his first game of the year, which makes him a risky starting option in IDP lineups in Week 4. But the 27-year-old's return to the field is great news for the Colts defense against Tennessee.
Indianapolis Colts linebacker Shaquille Leonard (concussion) has been ruled out for the remainder of Week 4 against the Tennessee Titans. Leonard had missed the first three games of the season due to injury and now has his season debut cut short. Leonard could face an uphill battle to clear concussion protocol in time for Week 5 since the Colts play on Thursday night.
Indianapolis Colts running back Jonathan Taylor (ankle) is questionable to return against the Tennessee Titans in Week 4. Taylor was inefficient when on the field, registering 20 carries for 42 rushing yards. He also lost a fumble in the contest. Nyheim Hines will handle rushing duties in Taylor's absence.
Indianapolis Colts running back Jonathan Taylor (ankle) will undergo further testing to determine the severity of the ankle injury he suffered during the Week 4 loss to the Titans. Per The Athletic's Zak Keefer, the Colts fear Taylor is dealing with a high-ankle sprain, which almost certainly would sideline him for the Thursday night game in Week 5 against the Denver Broncos and possibly longer. Before going down, Taylor received 20 carries on the day. However, he only had 42 yards to show for his efforts. Fantasy managers need to keep an eye on this situation, primarily since the Colts have a quick turnaround before heading to Denver for a Thursday Night Football showdown versus the Broncos. If Taylor can't suit up for that one, Nyheim Hines will be the No. 1 option on the depth chart. Deon Jackson, who has just two carries this season, may also get involved, although managers shouldn't look in his direction.

Indianapolis Colts linebacker Shaquille Leonard (back) is listed as questionable for the team's Week 4 divisional matchup with the Titans. Leonard hasn't played this season but has been able to get in quite a bit of practice time in his efforts to get fully healthy. The Colts have taken a cautious approach after their Pro-Bowl linebacker had back surgery in the offseason, as he was ruled out well before kickoff through the first three games of the season. His questionable tag is an upgrade heading into Week 4, as it looks like there is a good chance Leonard makes his season debut after "three pretty good days of practice."

Indianapolis Colts running back Jonathan Taylor (toe) was back at practice on Thursday after missing the first practice of his career on Wednesday for precautionary reasons. Taylor suffered the minor toe injury during the team's Week 3 upset victory over the Chiefs, but this doesn't look like something that is going to have an impact on his production moving forward. Taylor has got off to a bit of a slow start this season, but fantasy managers shouldn't be worried. The 23-year-old has averaged 20.3 carries and 4.3 targets per game, making him an elite RB1 option in Week 4 as the Colts face the divisional rival Titans at home.

Indianapolis Colts running back Jonathan Taylor (toe) didn't practice on Wednesday, but it was reportedly for precautionary reasons after Taylor had some soreness coming out of the Week 3 win against the Kansas City Chiefs. "He'll be ready to roll," a source said about his availability for Week 4 against the Tennessee Titans. Fantasy managers should have the 23-year-old available for this weekend, but his practice status is worth watching the rest of the week. Taylor is a must-start whenever he's active, but it's possible that he could be somewhat limited against Tennessee if his toe is still bothering him. If Taylor were to ever miss any time, Nyheim Hines and Deon Jackson would split Indy's backfield work.

Indianapolis Colts wide receiver Michael Pittman Jr. (quadriceps) is "ready to go" for the team's Week 3 matchup with the Kansas City Chiefs, according to head coach Frank Reich. Pittman was held out of action in Week 2, and the Colts' offense struggled mightily without their No. 1 wide receiver. They'll need all they can get out of him, as they will likely need to score a lot of points to keep up with Patrick Mahomes and company. Pittman can be locked into lineups as a low-end WR1 option this week, as he draws a solid matchup with a Chiefs defense that just allowed 113 yards and a touchdown to Mike Williams in Week 2.
Indianapolis Colts wide receiver Alec Pierce (concussion) has cleared concussion protocol and will play in Week 3. The Colts will now get back Michael Pittman Jr. (quadriceps) along with Pierce, in what should be a high-scoring affair with the Kansas City Chiefs. Pierce didn't record a catch on two targets in his NFL debut, so he is a hard player to trust in fantasy lineups given how involved Jonathan Taylor and Pittman Jr. will be in the offense. Fantasy managers should find better options to slot into their lineups until he can establish a prominent role as one of Matt Ryan's go-to pass-catchers.
Indianapolis Colts linebacker Shaquille Leonard (back) has been ruled out for Week 3 against the Kansas City Chiefs. Leonard underwent offseason back surgery and hasn't played this season despite getting in some practice time the past couple of weeks. It looks like the Colts are taking an extremely cautious approach with their All-Pro linebacker, but the fact that he has been practicing suggests he has a shot at returning in Week 4.

TEAMPLAYERTRANSACTION
Indianapolis Colts wide receiver Alec Pierce (concussion) was able to return to practice on Wednesday. The rookie wideout was unable to play in Week 2 due to a concussion. His absence gave way for Ashton Dulin to haul in five receptions for 79 yards. The expectation is that Dulin will go back to a rotational role once the Colts get healthy. Pierce is expected to play in Week 3, but remains off the fantasy radar in most formats.
Indianapolis Colts wide receivers Michael Pittman Jr. (quadriceps) and Alec Pierce (concussion) participated in practice on Thursday once again after the two returned on Wednesday. Both were held out of action in Week 2 against the Jacksonville Jaguars, but it looks like the Colts wide receiver duo has a good shot to return to action in Week 3. Pittman Jr. wouldn't comment on the status of his injury, so fantasy managers should keep an eye out for practice reports on Friday, and his game status leading up to Sunday. If he is able to return, fantasy managers can treat him as a low-end WR1 in a solid matchup with the Kansas City Chiefs, who just gave up 113 yards and a touchdown to Mike Williams. Pierce, on the other hand, is off the fantasy radar in conventional-sized leagues

Indianapolis Colts wide receiver Michael Pittman Jr. (quad) returned to practice on Wednesday after missing the Week 2 matchup against the Jacksonville Jaguars. Without the star receiver, Indianapolis struggled to move the ball through the air in their 24-0 defeat. The Athletic's Zak Keefer believes the third-year receiver should be ready to play for the Week 3 matchup against the Kansas City Chiefs. The return of Pittman would be massive for fantasy players after he caught nine of his 13 targets for 121 yards and a touchdown in Week 1. If he plays, Pittman is locked in as a low-end WR1.

Indianapolis Colts head coach Frank Reich said that wide receiver Michael Pittman Jr. (quadriceps) has "made some good progress" with his injured quad and could return in Week 3 against the Kansas City Chiefs. "Hoping it's just a one game thing," Reich said. Without Pittman available in Week 2, Indy's offense was unable to get anything going and put up a donut on the scoreboard in a 24-0 loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars. Parris Campbell didn't catch either of his two targets, and Ashton Dulin led the team with a 5-79-0 line. Fantasy managers will have a better idea of whether Pittman will be able to play this week once the team's practice reports come out on Wednesday. If the 24-year-old ends up missing just one game, he'll be a must-start in Week 3 against KC.

TEAMPLAYERTRANSACTION
Indianapolis Colts wide receiver Michael Pittman Jr. (quadriceps) has been downgraded from questionable to out in Week 2 against the Jacksonville Jaguars. Pittman was injured in Wednesday's practice and now won't play this weekend. With rookie Alec Pierce (concussion) also out, the Colts will be thin on pass-catchers for quarterback Matt Ryan as they look for their first win of 2022. Expect Parris Campbell, Ashton Dulin and Mike Strachan to serve in three-wide sets in this one. Campbell becomes an intriguing flex play with upside. Pass-catching running back Nyheim Hines, who caught all six of his targets for 50 yards in the Week 1 tie with the Houston Texans, will also be attractive as a flex play in PPR formats.
The Indianapolis Colts have elevated wide receiver Keke Coutee to their active roster ahead of a Week 2 matchup with the Jacksonville Jaguars. This move comes shortly after the announcement that Michael Pittman Jr. (quad) will miss Sunday's contest with a quad injury. Coutee had some success as a member of the Houston Texans from 2018-2020 and could see some opportunities this week in an unproven Colts wide receiver room that will also be without rookie Alec Pierce (concussion). Regardless, Coutee is not on the fantasy radar for this week nor going forward.
The Indianapolis Colts have elevated kicker Chase McLaughlin to their active roster ahead of a Week 2 contest with the Jacksonville Jaguars. McLaughlin will replace Rodrigo Blankenship, who was released after missing the game-winning field goal in a Week 1 tie with the Houston Texans. Indianapolis held tryouts for the job earlier this week which seemingly turned into a two-man battle between McLaughlin and rookie Lucas Havrisik. Ultimately, the team went with the veteran who previously kicked for the Colts in 2019 and most recently for the Cleveland Browns last season. McLaughlin will not be a recommended option for fantasy this week, especially with the offense missing one of its top weapons in Michael Pittman Jr. (quad).

Indianapolis Colts wide receiver Michael Pittman Jr. (quadriceps) is listed as questionable for Week 2, head coach Frank Reich announced. Pittman aggravated the injury on Wednesday and was limited in practice. Then, he was a non-participant on Thursday. It is unclear if he practiced in any capacity on Friday, but the good news is that the questionable designation leaves the door open for him to play on Sunday. If active, the 24-year-old would rank as a top-12 option against a Jaguars secondary that surrendered the second-most points to wideouts last week. If he can't go, the Colts would be without both Pittman and Alec Pierce (concussion), leaving Parris Campbell as the top option. We should know more about Pittman's availability by Sunday morning, and the Colts' 1 p.m. kickoff gives fantasy managers some flexibility in case a last-minute lineup change is needed.
Indianapolis Colts linebacker Shaquille Leonard (back) and wide receiver Alec Pierce (concussion) have both been ruled out ahead of Sunday's game versus the Jacksonville Jaguars. Although Leonard practiced in full on Wednesday and Thursday, it appears he'll still miss his second consecutive game. Meanwhile, Pierce made real progress but was unable to clear the concussion protocol in time. It will be important to monitor Colts injury updates over the next few days since wide receiver Michael Pittman Jr. (quad) is listed as questionable. If Pittman joins Pierce on the inactive list, Parris Campbell would serve as the team's No. 1 wide receiver.

TEAMPLAYERTRANSACTION
Indianapolis Colts rookie wide receiver Alec Pierce (head), who is in the league's concussion protocol, was upgraded to a limited practice on Thursday after he didn't practice on Wednesday. Pierce hasn't been cleared for contact yet, but he's clearly making progress after suffering a concussion in the Week 1 tie with the Houston Texans. Still, the 22-year-old will likely be questionable for Week 2 against the Jacksonville Jaguars. With No. 1 receiver Michael Pittman Jr. (quadriceps) also on the injury report this week, Parris Campbell, Ashton Dulin and Mike Strachan could be looking at bigger roles in Week 2. Pierce, who was a standout during training camp, failed to catch his only two targets in the season opener while playing 51% of the offensive snaps.
Indianapolis Colts wide receiver Michael Pittman Jr. (quadriceps) missed practice on Thursday after he was listed as limited on Wednesday. The Colts might just be resting their No. 1 receiver ahead of Friday's practice, but it's something for fantasy managers to keep an eye on heading into the team's Week 2 matchup against the Jacksonville Jaguars on Sunday. The 24-year-old is the Colts clear top pass-catcher after he caught nine of his 13 targets for 121 yards and a touchdown in the Week 1 tie with the Houston Texans. If Pittman is active this weekend, he's a must-start in fantasy in what could be a breakout year in 2022.
Indianapolis Colts linebacker Shaquille Leonard (back) put in a second straight day of full practice on Thursday. On the flip side, defensive tackle DeForest Buckner (hip) missed his second straight day of work. Cornerback Kenny Moore II (hip) was also listed as a DNP after being limited on Wednesday. Leonard is coming off offseason back surgery in June and was inactive for the Week 1 tie with the Houston Texans, but he's making progress and could be available to make his 2022 season debut in Week 2 against the Jacksonville Jaguars. If he does suit up, he'll be in play as a starting linebacker in IDP formats, but he'll still be a bit risky if the Colts choose to limit his defensive snaps in his first game back. Buckner is looking very iffy for this Sunday after tallying four tackles in the season opener.

Indianapolis Colts head coach Frank Reich said that rookie wide receiver Alec Pierce (head) developed concussion symptoms after the tie in Week 1 to the Houston Texans and is now in the league's concussion protocol. The 22-year-old second-rounder took a huge hit in the game that bent his facemask. It remains to be seen if he'll be able to get cleared before the team's Week 2 contest against the Jacksonville Jaguars this Sunday. Pierce played 51 percent of the snaps in his NFL debut last Sunday failed to catch either of his two targets. If he is forced to sit this weekend, Michael Pittman Jr. and Parris Campbell will be the team's top two receivers, with Ashton Dulin, Dezmon Patmon and Mike Strachan battling for the No. 3 role. Pass-catching running back Nyheim Hines, who caught all six of his targets in the opener, could be used more as a receiver as well.
Indianapolis Colts wide receiver Michael Pittman Jr. (quadriceps) was listed as a limited practice participant on Wednesday. Pittman's injury isn't viewed as too serious, as he was able to play 98% of the offensive snaps in the Week 1 tie with the Houston Texans. He caught nine of his 13 targets for 121 yards and a touchdown to kick off the regular season. The 24-year-old should remain in starting lineups in all leagues as a WR1 as long as he doesn't suffer any setbacks later this week.
Indianapolis Colts linebacker Shaquille Leonard (back) returned to a full practice on Wednesday, while cornerback Kenny Moore II (hip) was listed as limited. Leonard also put in a full practice last Wednesday before being limited the rest of the way and missing the Week 1 season-opening tie to the Houston Texans. The 27-year-old underwent back surgery in June and isn't a lock to return in Week 2 against the Jacksonville Jaguars. The Colts aren't going to rush the All-Pro linebacker back, but he deserves to remain stashed in IDP fantasy formats. If Leonard misses another game, expect E.J. Speed to make another start. Moore struggled in coverage in Week 1, but he's one of the best tackling cornerbacks in the league.

The Indianapolis Colts have waived kicker Rodrigo Blankenship after he missed a game-winning field goal in the team's season-opening tie with the Houston Texans. The 25-year-old made 2-of-3 field goals and both of his extra-point attempts in Week 1, with his longest kick being 45 yards. Since his rookie season in 2020, Blankenship has made 45-of-54 field goal attempts and 52-of-55 extra point attempts, with his highest field goal percentage being 86.5% in a single season. The former Georgia Bulldog can be left off fantasy rosters unless he finds a starting job with a new team.
The Indianapolis Colts signed free-agent kickers Chase McLaughlin and Lucas Havrisik to their practice squad on Tuesday after waiving Rodrigo Blankenship, according to sources. McLaughlin went 5-for-6 on field goals and 11-for-11 on extra points in four games for the Colts in 2019, while Havrisik spent time with the team in rookie camp. The Colts plan to elevate one to the active roster for Week 2 against the Jacksonville Jaguars on Sunday. McLaughlin probably has the leg up to be the team's kicker this weekend because of his experience, but it's no guarantee. Fantasy managers should be looking to avoid the Colts' kicker in fantasy in Week 2, regardless of who gets the nod on Sunday.

TEAMPLAYERTRANSACTION
Indianapolis Colts offensive guard Quenton Nelson agreed to a four-year, $80 million contract extension on Saturday. The 26-year-old has been a formidable presence on the team's offensive line and has numerous All-Pro selections and Pro Bowl bids to show for it. As long as Nelson remains healthy, life should be easier for the aging Matt Ryan, who will need all the protection he can get this season. Of course, Jonathan Taylor will also benefit from Nelson's services for years to come.

Indianapolis Colts cornerback Tony Brown has been promoted from the practice squad to the active roster ahead of Sunday's opener against the Texans. The 27-year-old has played 33 games over three seasons, spending time with the Packers and Bengals. During that span, he's accumulated 58 tackles (44 solo) and two forced fumbles. While Brown is likely thrilled to get another opportunity, fantasy managers shouldn't get too excited, primarily since he hasn't been a reliable IDP option over the years

Indianapolis Colts linebacker Shaquille Leonard (back) has been ruled out for the team's Week 1 matchup with the Houston Texans. Despite being listed as a full participant at practice on Wednesday, the All-Pro will need to wait until at least Week 2 against the Jaguars to make his season debut. Leonard underwent offseason back surgery and isn't at 100% yet, so only time will tell when the 27-year-old returns to action. In his absence, linebacker Zaire Franklin will start for the Colts on Sunday.

TEAMPLAYERTRANSACTION
Indianapolis Colts linebacker Shaquille Leonard (back) was a full participant in Wednesday's practice. Leonard is back to practicing in full, but it doesn't necessarily mean he'll play in the Week 1 regular season opener this Sunday against the Houston Texans. Therefore, fantasy managers in IDP fantasy formats should make sure they a backup plan in place for their starting linebacker this weekend. And even if the 27-year-old plays against Houston, he may not see his normal number of defensive snaps. The three-time All-Pro and Pro Bowler has never had fewer than 121 total tackles in any of his four NFL seasons, but injuries have become a concern the last two years, causing him to slip a bit in the overall IDP rankings at his position.

The Indianapolis Colts signed running back Phillip Lindsay to their practice squad on Tuesday. Lindsay was released by the team on roster cutdown day a week ago, but he'll return to the team as depth at the running back position. Jonathan Taylor will be the primary lead back yet again, with Nyheim Hines working in mostly a pass-catching role behind him. Deon Jackson is currently the team's No. 3 RB. Lindsay went undrafted in 2018 but then made the Pro Bowl in his rookie season with the Denver Broncos, when he rushed for 1,037 yards and nine touchdowns on 192 carries. He also had a 1,000-yard rushing season the following year, but since then he's quickly fallen off and spent the 2021 season with the Houston Texans and Miami Dolphins.

Indianapolis Colts linebacker Shaquille Leonard (back) returned to practice on Wednesday. After missing training camp due to offseason back surgery, the team recently activated him from the PUP list. However, general manager Chris Ballard couldn't say for sure when the 27-year-old would be ready to play this season. Nevertheless, since Leonard's rookie campaign, he has seen a dip in production, so his fantasy stock has followed. Yet, Leonard's ability to accumulate tackles from year to year makes him a viable IDP option once he's healthy and back on the field.

TEAMPLAYERTRANSACTION
The Indianapolis Colts activated linebacker Shaquille Leonard (back) from the Physically Unable to Perform list on Tuesday. Leonard can now practice with the team and won't have to miss the first four games of the regular season. The three-time All-Pro had ankle surgery in July of last year and also went under the knife in June to fix two discs in his back. It remains to be seen if the 27-year-old will be ready for Week 1 of the regular season, but it's great news for fantasy managers in IDP leagues that Leonard won't start the year on the PUP list. Despite injury issues in recent seasons, Leonard has had 121-plus tackles in all four of his NFL seasons. Although he won't be in play as a top-five fantasy linebacker heading into 2022, he should still be rostered in all IDP formats.

The Indianapolis Colts released running back Phillip Lindsay on Tuesday, according to a source. Lindsay wasn't on the fantasy radar heading into the 2022 season behind both Jonathan Taylor and Nyheim Hines, but he was battling for the No. 3 job in training camp and the preseason. With Lindsay now out of the picture, Deon Jackson should be the favorite for No. 3 duties, with Ty'Son Williams and rookie D'Vonte Price behind him. Lindsay played in 14 combined games (one start) for the Houston Texans and Miami Dolphins last year, carrying the rock 88 times for 249 yards and a touchdown while adding four catches on five targets for 45 yards and an additional score. He should be able to latch on with another team as RB depth.

Indianapolis Colts punter Rigoberto Sanchez (Achilles) won't suit up this season after suffering an injury during practice. It appears the 27-year-old suffered a torn Achilles while running during practice on Tuesday. This is a shame with the regular season quickly approaching. Now, the Colts must scramble to get another punter and get him ready for game action. Sanchez has been the punter for the Colts over the last five seasons. He struggled last season, but has put together nice years in the past. It's also worth noting that Sanchez was the holder, which could hurt a little. Regardless, the absence of Sanchez shouldn't make much of an impact in terms of fantasy football.
The Indianapolis Colts are reportedly signing punter Matt Haack to a deal, per multiple reports. The move comes in the wake of Rigoberto Sanchez (Achilles) sustaining a season-ending injury Tuesday, creating a void at a vital position for the Colts. Haack was recently released by Buffalo, with Matt Ariaza winning the Bills' punter job. The 28-year-old Haack has served as a primary punter for the past five seasons, four of which came with Miami. Over that span, the undrafted free agent from Arizona State has averaged 44.4 yards per boot. Indianapolis will open the regular season on Sept. 11 against Houston.
